    Running and not lifting

    Ok i went through a period were i was lifting weights and boxing, i gained a few kilos and everything was going smooth THEN i broke my hand, now i cant lift or anything and i dont wanna get fat so ive been running and light shadow boxing but im afraid im gonna lose alot of muscle by doing this, i will be out for another few weeks what should i do???

    Most boxers who are "afraid of losing a lot of muscle" seem to me to have missed the point entirely. This is not bodybuilding, and losing weight is, more often than not,a good thing.

      Exactly. Punchdrunk knows his stuff. If you're afraid of losing your extra muscle, you're probably in the wrong weightclass. If you have to struggle to keep on lean muscle, you're in the wrong weightclass. Train hard, eat right, and you will settle into the right weightclass for your natural frame size.
