That doesn't sound like such a good idea to me, not that I'm a boxing trainer. But it depends on who you will be sparring.

If it's someone of the same experience level as you, I would say go for it.

so you are the one in those garage sparring videos? sparring with your older bro?

you guys looked good for being untrained.

does your brother have any coach training?

yes or no, keep sparring with him, chances are you will spar someone with as much gym experience as you.

don't be afraid you'll eventually get owned and that's part of learning...
Or you will sparr some one with similar experience and then it's up to you to show how serious you are

i sparred in my second or 3rd weed and destroyed someone who'd been going for 3 months. In a jabbing contest i also managed to outbox a 28 year old brazilian dude whos been boxing for years. (hes very ****ty for the amount of experience he has) But this would not have happend if i wasnt confident. The brazilian dude lanky and very ripped, much longer reach, yet my confidence was sky high and i outboxed him though he landed the cleaner jabs at times. You're probably just afraid of letting yourself and others down. But dont worry even if u lose in a sparring session it happens to everyone, just give her man

You know when it's time to cut down when you don't even notice it.

Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is proceeding despite fear.
