  • how do i beat this sloppy guy in our backyard boxing?

man, check it out tho, im da guy in white tanktop, and this foo in grey whoop my ass. please, none of that "get a gym and stop fighting in backyards" stuff, just cuz we dont go to a gym dont mean we cant try to box, or swing at each otha fo fun. now i know i box like ****/fight like ****, but i don't care how i fight/box in real life, i just like watching the sport. but for real, things i notice about that fool in grey, is:

    1. decent stamina (i was hella winded after the 2nd round, he said he can go more rounds after the 3rd ended)
    2. when he "dodges", he keeps his eyes on his opponent (unlike most starters, we look away when attacking/dodging, which is dangerous)
    3. when he attacks wildly, he pays attention to the punches coming at him at the same time, not bad for the average backyard fighter who has never been to a gym
    4. he's very sloppy, like all of us.
    5. all "backyard boxers" NEVER pay attention to their defense, they usually just go wild swining for 30 seconds and it's over, they too tired to continue. this man pays attention, and looks confident, but like i sed earlier, he's sloppy as ****, just like all of us.

i know i took hella long to come out for round 2, i was scared and shocked from my first time taking hits to the face (my first time getting hit, and it's by 10oz amateur gloves)

i know you guys feel insulted that we do this without any real boxing experience and the fact that we just put on gloves and swing at each other without the proper technique, oh well, no law saying we can't do this.

i know my chin is never tucked in, oh well.

so, i just wanna know. what would REAL boxers do against someone like him? (real boxers who have the correct stance/footwork/punches/tucked in chin, etc.
what would YOU do if you had a boxing match with HIM?
with all that running away/leaning back dodging, what would YOU do?

i know any real amateur/pro boxer, or trainer would know how to take care of him easily, i just wanna know what you guys think.

if i was really into boxing in real life and actually wanted to try boxing , i would probably try to weave left or right away from one of those wide straights of his, and counter with a hook, but again, i suck

everytime he leans back, he's off balance, gives me the chance to hit him, but then again, i suck

everytime he his feet cross each other, he's off balance, and i know you're supposed to have your lead foot step left first, then your right foot follows after (if you want to move left), etc.

everytime he throws those wide swings, there's a chance to counter, but then again, i suck.

everyime we get close to him, he runs away, i dont know what to do.

i know, i suck, and i dont care.

what yall think? what would YOU do?

keep your chin down! keep your punches straight untill you are very close te go to hooks

its a shame you can;t corner him!

he has good head movement so maybe you should aim to his body he doesn;t look that robust.

i know you suck but learn counterpunching he looks very susceptable to it.

if hes better than you you should tr and learn from him

btw backyard boxcing is not a good idea why dont you find yourself a gym?

Keep your elbows in and your hands up, with your chin tucked in. When he comes in with those sloppy shots just eat a couple of them and counter with a short compact punch.

Why does every backyard boxer try to emulate Roy Jones?

sounds good, yeah, i dont know why backyard boxers try to emulate roy jones. you need incredible reflexes/speed for that.

so it all comes down to countering those sloppy swings with a short compact punches?

i cant believe no1 mensioned the jab... keep ur hands up chin down and when he throws a sloppy punch hit him with the jab first. work on ur timing as soon as he starts throwing throw ur jab and the jab will get there before the other punch. Once u get comfortable follow the jab with a right hand. The key is the jab and this guy doesent have a jab, all u need to do is jab him

makes perfect sense, the jab should always get there first before those kind of sloppy punches.

his punches are very very slow...
and it looks like he has no power behind them
                  he also throws off balance...
                  so hers wat you do
when he throws take one or two punches.. (shouldnt do much damage to you)
then when hes pulling his hand back.. like someone said get him with a compact punch... make sure you throw it right or else it wouldnt have any power with it (also make sure to throw it with speed so he wont be able to dodge it)
then follow with a body shot (ribs) after cause he should be a little weary
should knock the wind out of him, and put him in quite some pain

just learn to counter and youd be fine
like you said hes VERY sloppy

                  hope that helps

I'm looking forward to the next video u post with this guy. If u keep ur hands up and work off the jab u WILL beat him. No way in hell a sloppy guy like this will beat anybody with a jab. Seems easy to do but the first step is being relaxed while fighting
