  • how bad will a 1 month absence from boxing affect me??

I'm going for a surgery next week, so I won't be able to do boxing or any exercise for about a month, just wondering how bad will it affect me in terms of conditioning and skill?? any experiences?? I'm still pretty new been going to my new gym for 3 months now...

It will slow you down a bit, the beginning of learning to box is critical time period, but you, 3 months, wont get thrown off that much.

Not much man...I once took 6 months off of boxing but continued to run and play basketball. Once I got back in the ring I wasn't a ball of energy but I wasn't as gassed as I expected to be either. I could still do decent sparring.

Just maintain your legs and lungs by running and being active.

That's a good question, I've been off for almost 2 months now. And I was supposed to fight (amatuer) in October, but with my new work schedule, my daughter being born, and the gym in down time for the holidays I'm looking to get back with a **** in January. I need to start running and conditioning now though.

Well personaly I am on/off as far as boxing. I havent done any in ages. But once in a while I'll go to my friends gym and we'll spar.

          I never lost any "skill".

Im slower, my conditioning sucks big time, but I never lost any skill. If anything I come back with something new to offer.

          But if anything its conditioning.
