i started boxing about 10 months ago and it was all going fine until i had to spar for the first time, i was scared to hit the other guy because i thought if i hit him his gonna hit me back even harder, so i got my ass kicked, anyway since then i got put off of sparring, i sparred other less experienced people but when i have to step into the ring with the 1st guy i sparred with, i start making excuses such as forgot my gumshield and start feeling sick and sometimes remember what happend, anyways its been 6 or 7 months since that and started sparring again but still before i get into the ring i feel nervous and sort of sick/choking but when i get in it all goes away, but i will need to step up my opposition at sometime and cant go on like this, so what should i do? i think i should step into the ring and face my fears.
also another problem i have is when i sparring im doing ok but when the other guy starts pputting pressure on me or starts doing combos and backs me up to the ropes or corner i sort of start panicking and try to block it by turning around.
any help would be grately apreciated i know my problem is more mental than physical.
