    A incredible achevement

To knock Larry Holmes out is
    straight up incredible. Mercer could
not do it. Holyfeild could not do it.
Mike did it. Once again proving his
    incredibleness. Only greatness could
    whoop a man like Holmes.

    yeah yeah snarfy snarf

The same year as he fought senior Holmes he fought Spinks. Tyson likes the old men and light heavies thats for sure.

Spinks weighed in at 210 not
          a light heavy.
Holmes was not an old man
he had all his hair not balding and only
          loss two times by decision.
yup yup you wrong i'm right

Archie Moore was a heavy for Marciano and all the light heavies he fought move up. Difference is they were competitive at heavy - spinks was not. Holmes had hair implants and a merkin too.

Only Mike and Butterbean were able to KO or KD Holmes

Mike was the only one to knock him out, and I mean KTFO.

Larry was knocked down by Shavers...the first time I watched the fight I thought Larry was dead, but he impressed me by getting up...that was a prime version of Larry, but when Mike fought him, he wasn't the same fighter.

Given, Larry went on to have a good 2nd career, never to be knocked out again, but we should still remember the effects of a declined and older fighter.

Does that mean that Larry wouldn't have lost to a prime version of Tyson, no, but we will never know.
The one story I did find interesting was from Teddy Atlas: he said that Cus would always show Mike footage of Larry Holmes and told Mike how he could beat Larry if he were to fight him. Teddy said Cus always told Mike that Larry drops his left when he jabs, and he doesn't move his head, so if you can time it, throw the right. Teddy said Mike, in his prime, was perfect at Timing punches. Which is probably why he was the only one to catch, and continue to catch Larry and go on to win by KTFO (KO). But still, it was an older Larry, so the reflexes were a bit declined as well.

If Shavers could knock down Larry in his prime, so could Mike, and Mike had the better chance of knocking out Holmes because Mike was more skilled, was much more of an attacker like a Running Back.
