  • 4 Questions For BoxingScene.com Members Reguarding Mayweather vs. DLH...

If Oscar won, how big would that be for his legacy? What will it do for Mayweather legacy if he wins? How much of a chance does Oscar really have?

Oh and is Oscar really realeasing a rap album? LOL...

IF and only IF Oscar beats PBF its big for his legacy, he already has a legacy but beating mayweather, the undefeated p4p #1 fighter would add something to it, Mayweathers legacy would be good if he wins it would make him a 5 division champion and oscar has got a better chance because the fight is at 154 where oscar has the advantage.

btw you have got three of my favourites in your sig.

huge for oscars legacy. nothing for mayweathers legacy, he beat an old fighter. I actually like oscar a lot in this fight, so I definitely think he has a chance.

oh and oscar's album drops on Feb 29, 2007.

IMO it would be a bigger win for DLH than Mayweather because DLH is going up against the P4P champ while Mayweather is going up against a guy who only fought Mayorga in 2 years. That will undermine his vicotry, even though it probably shouldn't because both are world class fighters. If Mayweather really retires it will be a great fight to end with. Plus, people can't really complain about him fighting DLH like they did with a lot of other fights...unless it goes back to the whole quasi-retirement issue.

And the album thing I have no clue, but I doubt it.

Cool. Paul Williams is a good prospect too.

Winning over Floyd would have been a greater legacy were the fight to be held at 147 where Mayweather reigns. It would have meant that Oscar was going into the P4P fighter's turf and proving he can beat the best in the latter's own territory.

But such details can be lost in time. What may be remembered is a simple statement of fact: Oscar beat Floyd, the P4P fighter at the time.

Of course, that is conditioned on an actual victory over Floyd and the manner through which the victory is carved out.

              I disagree with you guys...

It will do more for Floyd (if he wins) because he's fighting the naturally bigger guy; I mean he's fighting Oscar at 154 on his first fight at 154...

If Oscar wins, he will beat a guy that still being the p4p #1 guy should be fighting at least 2 weight classes below 154...

FLOYD MAYWEATHER’S dad insists his son will get his ass kicked by Oscar De La Hoya.

Unbeaten Mayweather is stepping up a weight in an attempt to snatch De La Hoya’s WBC world light-middleweight crown on May 5.

But estranged dad Floyd Snr — who has trained De La Hoya since 2001 — reckons his lad has been motivated by greed. The bout will be the richest non-heavyweight title fight in history.

Mayweather Jnr, 29, will pocket a career-best £5.3million purse — with De La Hoya, 33, getting over £13m to meet the world welterweight champ.

Floyd Snr blasted: “This is a case of greed over common sense and he’s going to pay for it.

“It’s not about him wanting to fight Oscar, it’s about him wanting to hurt his daddy.

“But he’s going to have a surprise and is going to wind up on his ass.

“Little Floyd is fighting out of his weight class.”

But Mayweather Jnr, who has not spoken to his dad for two years, is adamant he will not lose his perfect 37-0 record.

He said: “I will knock him out.”

De La Hoya, who has lost four of 42 fights, intends to talk with Floyd Snr before he starts training. He said: “I want to look into his eyes and see if he’s going to be as passionate as I am.”

Borikua, if Oscar beat Floyd to me that would be insane. I know Floyd shouldn't really be fighting this high in weight but hes still skill wise the best boxer in the world today. So it would be a great win for Oscar, I would be shocked if De La Hoya won. Its going to be an exciting fight.
