    Mayweather-Castillo is in the past

When people try to think of problems that Mayweather has they always somehow refer back to the Castillo fight. I understand that it makes sense that you would think about that fight but it is in the past.

Lots of people (including HBO) try to size Mayweather up with an opponent like Castillo; people like Baldomir and Margarito. The problem is that the Mayweather-Castillo fight is in the past and Floyd has learned from his mistake. Floyd was able to dominate in the 2nd fight and he understands how to fight the brawler.

My point is that you shouldn't be looking for more brawlers that Mayweather can dodge and punch his way to a victory. You should be looking for a fast/accurate puncher to cut off Mayweather by using a hook to the jaw (the hook being just an example).

I think if they were to fight a third match Castillo would still give Floyd problems. Your point is valid and I can see why you would draw that conclusion, but Floyd's already been tested against a fast, accurate puncher in Zab Judah, and Judah just ran out of gas.

Besides, how many other fast fighters out there do you know that can compete on Mayweather's level?

I still think the key to defeat Floyd is a pressure fighter who will be willing to walk through Floyd's offense and break him down inside.

Mayweather won a close fight with one arm. Because of that, people seem to think a big brawler could rough him up. Castillo is arguably the best pressure fighter in the sport today and he couldn't beat a one-armed Mayweather. He couldn't even hit him in the head but once or twice the entire fight. He pounded the hell out of Mayweather's shoulders, one of which was messed up prior to the fight, and he still could do nothing with Floyd. There is absolutely no way a guy like Margarito is going to be Floyd, especially considering Margarito is slower and less-skilled than Castillo.

It wasn't even about Castillo's size or power, it was his skills. He is one of the best pressure fighters out there today because he is great at cutting off the ring and he's relentless once he has you trapped. I can't think of a fighter as skilled as Castillo as far as pressuring goes...

Mayweather seems to make excuses about his hands or his arm whenever he does not perform well or favorable. That was horse**** about his arm.

Mayweather did not fair well against Castillo in the first fight, and thats all there is to it. His arm hurting had nothing to do with him getting hit so often and being outboxed.

He put a beating on Castillo in the second fight. If Mayweather wasn't injured in the first fight, then why wasn't the second close?

um listen to him in the corner after the first round where he tells his uncle to massage his shoulder because it's ****ed up. by the way, you do realize Mayweather won 9-10 rounds against Castillo in the 2nd fight, right? you know, the time he had 2 good arms?

Yes he did beat him fair and square in the second fight, I do not deny that. But being the "gladiator" that he claims to be, using excuses for his performance is a ***** thing to do. Mayweather is a better fighter than Castillo, but that does not take away from the fact that in reality, Castillo won that fight.

Its history and it was settled in the second fight, but the first fight should have been a "L" on his record.

Like Emmanuel Steward stated once "There is no such thing as being 100%, that is part of the job, one must adapt and overcome".

Mayweather is about the gayest "Gladiator" that has ever claimed being one.
