OK, I think this is exactly what we need to spread literacy and the advancement of boxing intellect here. Reading books is a MUCH better way to absorb facts and info than watching documentaries or fight films cuz there is alot more data being interchanged through text here are some of the books I have recently finished:

Victory Over Myself- Floyd Patterson
Only in America: The Life and Crimes of Don King- Jack Newfield
Only the Ring was Square- Teddy Brenner

I got it in the library. It's a great book. He went into great detail about himself as a person, and behind the scenes stuff.

Also, I recently finished David Remnick's "King of the World", a bio on Muhammad Ali that bases Ali's personality around the Liston fights and juxtaposes him beautifully with the other 2 great heavyweights of his time, Liston and Patterson.

You're barley reading boxing books,lol.

But seriously i got to start up again, theres many interesting books out their today, Mucullough, Tapia, Tszyu, and so on.

Read Fraiziers bio, that **** is a good read.

One thing i always hated about Ali books is when they had to go into the Vietnam thing, that **** used to **** up a lot of Ali books i used to read, some i didnt' even finish cause i got so ****en bored of reading the samething.

Milles Lane book is a great book too, you'd be surprised the road he took and how he got their, he tells a lot good stories and great info. He also talks about how boxing used to be able to get you a collage degree, when they used to have boxing in the schools.

Study up on boxing, better late then never......

I've read alot more, but I can't remember the titles or authors. I just finished a book by Joyce CaROL Oates but I can't remember.

favorite book all time:

12 greatest rounds of boxing. thats a great read. Tons of Info on each fight in wich the great round happens, and even more insider detail on the round itself

and "THE HARDEST GAME" is great as well. REALLLLLLLLLY LONG but cool.

talks about what u were just talking about ASIAN, about whats wrong with boxing from a human being and health standpoint.

really interesting stuff.

The book opens with the greatest essay i have ever read
