"But my trainer Harold Volbrecht broke the silence and said he still believed in me, then Lennox Lewis rang.

"It was a real shock, but it was a real boost for me. Lennox had only seen me fight on TV a couple of times. That call meant so much to me. He said, 'Stay focused. Don't let him dictate the fight and show him absolutely no respect, jump on him.' Basically, that formed my game plan and he called me straight after the fight and congratulated me. I'd be the first to buy Lennox a beer. After all, he told me how to beat Wladimir."

I do know that Lewis and Sander are/were friends. What IS NOT fact is you saying Lewis was scared to death of him when in no point in his 15 year career can you say Lewis "ducked" a chalenger he always went out of his way to fight the best.

Oh wow he called his friend the night before the fight to wish him luck and give him advice. What an *******. He certianly would not be the first fighter in the history of the sport to call his friend the night before a fight and give him advice and wish him luck.

By the way how anyone can argue the mentally fragile Wlad could even make it to round 5 with PRIME Lewis is flat out laughable.

If it's any consolation, Sanders, who received a pre-fight pep talk from Lewis, is promoted by Golden Gloves, the sister company of the champ's Lion Promotions -- both of which are owned by UK-based Sports Media Entertainment. So in a way, Lewis got his main rival knocked off. Funny game, boxing.

.....Take special note of this from Corrie Sanders mouth. Lewis never denied any of this and basically refused to comment.

When asked to describe his biggest regret, Sanders says “If I could change anything I would have changed my management team earlier in my career. I really feel that I was kept back and not allowed to achieve all I was capable of doing in the ring. Promoters here tend to wrap their boxers in cotton-wool, feed them fighters not up to the task so they can’t develop and only let them out when it’s too late and they’re basically stuck for opportunities. It happened to me; Pierre Coetzer, Sebastian Rothman, Phillip Ndou, the list goes on and on.”

A fight Sanders pursued for many years which never came off was against Lennox Lewis. “I always wanted to get Lewis in the ring. I knew I had the beating of him. When I fought [Vitali] Klitschko, Lewis chatted a lot with me and he admitted that they avoided me and were concerned about fighting me. I appreciated that he was prepared to admit it to me personally. It meant that I must have meant something.”

So let me get this straight here.

You do know when you step in the ring its just you and the other guy right? What does Lennox have to do with Wlad losing? Becuase he told Sanders to throw a punch? I mean doesn't Wlad have a whole team of trainers himself to help him defend and gameplan for all the punches Sanders is gonna throw at him?

Oh but thats right Wlad losing all falls on Lennox Lewis, Yes it was all some brilliant master plan, Damn I guess Lewis have called Ross Purity the night before aswell huh. Oh God.

Wlad could beat Lewis with a good chance -- If Rahman could do it, then Wlad certainly could as well. Wlad is better technically than Lewis and has as good a chin as Lewis has. I think Wlad would win 60% of the time they fight.

....Sanders was a huge punching dangerous lefty and Lennox was smart enough to avoid him. Lewis knew how dangerous he was, he knew that he could take the pressure off of Lennox to fight Wlad if he upset him, and he was more than happy to give him advice to try and help him take out his biggest threat.
