Who do you think is the second best Heavyweight Right Now?

I think it is Samuel Peter, he is the best after Wlad, and he gave Wlad a tough fight I want to see a rematch. Peter can beat Maskaev, Valuev and Briggs. Knocking the best HW down 3 times right now and losing 114-111 is good enough to get a rematch, dont give me that "no legit knockdowns" bull**** because klitschko was clinching too.

    What do you guys think?

Discuss sensibly and please try not to use the terms "Hater" or "Nuthugger". Thanks

I would have to go with Maskeav... Peter got whooped by James Toney.

....I'm not sure who I think is number two. IMO Peter is at a disadvantage in the Toney rematch now that Toney knows he can handle his power. Valuev fights to the level of competition and seems dangerous when hurt or seeming to be hurt. Maskaev is close to being on his last legs but I would give him the three spot off of his Rahman fight. I would probably put Valuev at 2, and Maskaev at 3. If Peter is impressive against Toney then he goes to my number 2 spot. I do believe that Peter and Wlad will meet again one day.

I'll go with Peter due to his talent and potential.

I don't think Toney handled Peter's power that well, he was just not hit flush very often with full powered shots. He was rocked worse than I've ever seen him at heavyweight but Peter lacked either the killer instinct or conditioning to follow up.

I think this fight is Peter's to win if he comes in shape, maybe 20 lbs lighter, and uses his jab more. He was damn effective with the jab, knocked Toney's equilibrium off kilter almost every time it hit. Toney claims he hired a fitness expert but I bet he still fights at no less than 230 lbs.

Peter can show up in the same shape he did before and give us a similar result or he can decide he wants to be a real champion and knuckle down to serious training. He has youth on his side and he has the ability to put Toney's HW aspirations to rest IMO.

That loss (just or unjust, just hearing that he lost) really took a lot out of Toney and at this stage in his career there isn't a lot of fire or motivation left in his belly IMO. He's lucky he got this immediate rematch, maybe it will steel his revolve to get into great shape for the first time in his heavyweight career. It could work that way. I don't see it happening. I think in the end Toney will say **** it, and climb through the rope with his customary man **** and big belly. At that point it's all in Peter's hands.

I have a lot of faith in Peter's physical ability but his disicpline and fighting spirit have me second guessing him. Still, when everyone else is an underachiever too, his talent and strength puts him at the top of the pack.

I think it's Shannon Briggs, he is the only heavyweight who can beat Wladimir, save for an unexpected sniper who Wladimir will overlook. Shannon has the motor skills, handspeed, and the punching power to give Wladimir all kinds of hell. He is strong enough that he can move forward on Wladimir and outmuscle him. A rough, physical guy like Briggs will make Wladimir's night very tough.
