ya know whats odd after I made this thread I had an idea for a better thread...ahh **** it..maybe in a few days...
I'd just like to see Valuev because he's not really a good fighter...when he does face contenders they do tend to do good against him but end up going to decision...I think Wlad could really beat Valuev and knock him down a peg...
Actually few people like Valuev. I think he's actually underrated. He has decent skills and at his size it's all he needs. I wish he could get a little more leverage into his shots but he seems to be improving this more and more. His stamina and workrate are almost freakish when you consider his hulking size. I can see him getting outboxed but he's no joke in a head on fight.
Wlad would murder him though. I hope Wlad fights Briggs and Valuev takes on Maskaev, both fights happening in the next 5 months. The winners of those fights (likely Wlad vs. Valuev IMO) would then fight for the heavyweight championship of the world sometime in 2007. This is getting ridiculous, the titles need to be unified ASAP. The only people these belt holders should be fighting are each other.

hmm really, first person I ever heard give credit to Valuev...However I still feel his size is the only thing going for him...if he was a few inches shorter (6'5 or 6'4) I doubt he'd be undefeated...

and probably about 4 others besides those...
just the sheer number of belts makes it hard to unite them...you'd lose one for not defending it or some ****** thing like that...
It may be true that Valuev wins because of his size but the point remains that he still wins. He's found a good effective style that makes use of his size, durability, and strength, just like every other fighter in the history of the sport made good use of their attributes. I think that's a bit like saying Foreman without his power would be ordinary. Foreman's power and Valuev are both nature given strength. They did not do anything to earn them. You can make the argument that Foreman worked hard to improve and refine his power but Valuev also trained hard to utilize his height as an advantage.
Height alone with no skill to assist it is only a disadvantage.

The main belts are the WBC, WBA, IBF. The WBO has long been the lesser of the main 3.
