Good point. But to each their own. I personally like stylists better. I mean it was Muhammad Ali himself that got be interested in boxing in the first place.

Larry Merchant is one of the best commentators in boxing today. U may not agree with him sometimes but overall he is very good.

Right and Merchant seems to prefer aggressive fighters. Max Kellerman only loved defensive specialists. Does it really matter? No. But to discredit one style over another is just ignorant and biased. Merchant is not less of a boxing fan or analyist for prefering aggressive fighters over defensive ones than if he preferred defensive boxers. No one seems to complain about Kellerman's bias for defensive guys like Whitaker.

You have to look at where the criticism is coming from, though. Max is "young and cool" whereas Merchant's an "old fart".

            Typical, really.

....I agree with that 100%. I picture myself strangling Kellerman everytime he talks.

Max Kellerman's historical knowledge especially sucks. He once said Dempsey would lose to Jack Johnson because despite having a more modern style, Johnson had too much height and reach on him...
