A quality fighter moves around the ring and doesn't let his opponant charge in for the hug. It's basic boxing 101. I see by your pic that you have a decent sized fist, but I see by your nose that you have never been in the ring... nuff said

He doesn't move particularly well but he is quick handed, obviously the guy has some skill, but really - is he the BEST thing since punches in the division like so many people seem to think?
imo the only thing he really lacks offensively is the uppercut and body punching. he does throw in combinations with the jab,, left hook,, right hand combo,,,,altho it was mainly just the 1-2 in this particular fight. it was enough and did the job

...Leo, JD is a good guy and he has been in and around the business for many many years. I disagree with him 100% on Wlad and it caused me to jump him in this very thread as well. I appologized to him in person on the phone a short while ago in fact. He's entitled to his opinion even if he is wrong, and he really isn't an ******* in any way, shape, or form. For some reason, Wlad doesn't thrill him. Remember, this is the same guy who invited a ton of people from here out to his house, put them up, and got them introduced to many great fighters at a couple of boxing events. Most recently he did it for the Taylor/Winky Wright fight. He loves boxing and has an opinion just like everyone else. You and I agree on this fight for sure. Wlad was a little sluggish at first but he dominated and got the job done. I had him winning all 6 rounds before the stoppage with the possible exception of the 2nd round, and the way he closed the show was beautiful.

Leo, if you want to exploit ******ity, I would suggest you begin with your own posts, there is plenty to work on right there and I am quite sure it will take you considerable time to figure out what I am talking about.

Look man, if you are satisfied with a mediocre performance from a fighter getting paid millions of dollars that is your perogative - but I personaly don't settle for such. Klitschko won the fight - he was supposed to - but they had the crowd booing at the lack of effort. I don't care who is in the ring - if the crowd is booing the fighters are NOT doing the job they are there to do. Leo these guys get paid more in one night than most people will make in their LIFETIME including YOU, so why is it wrong for me to demand more effort for that kind of money?

I hear youre a good guy and a good poster so I'll be more polite about it in the future when and if I disagree with you.
wlad should have been a little more agressive in the earlier rounds and and used his distance a little better but a big part of it was brocks awckwardness. most of brocks past fights have been boring because of his style and that was a big part of wlads problem,,, but he did adapt and took him out impressively. I give his performance a B+. he closed the show like a champion is supposed to after a sluggish start

I thank you for that, it's my opinion that Klitschko should have won the fight that is after all, why he took the fight, because his camp thought he would win. But also I have to say that he should have taken Brock - who had no answer for him - out in the first couple of rounds, he just did not show the warrior side that I am looking for. Even with a KO half way through the fight, against a fighter who brought nothing to hurt him, he did not show me that he is the "be all - end all of the division" or the "All Time Great" that some people make him out to be.

I make no beans about not being a Klitschko fan, I was simply commenting on the supposed "shutout" on the round by round coverage.

I am looking for a fighter with some heart in the division, one who isn't content to throw a one-two and hold. Is that really too much to ask for?
maybe you need to watch the fight first before running your mouth. brock was the one doing most of the holding and wlad did exactly what he had to do to win. it wasn't a shutout but another impressive win for wlad in my book.

fair enough and I do pretty much agree with all of that

                      Soundtraveler,

I will agree with you, but only if you admit the same about Mayweather and his merely doing enough to win vs. Baldomir. The difference for me is that for all the trouble he had early on Klitschko eventually produced the knockout, one of the cleanest and most visually impressive I've seen in heavyweight boxing in years, so it was a more satisfying result for those attending IMO.

There cannot be a double standard yet with the Klitschkos there often is.

PS You are a great poster here and I have a lot of respect for you. You don't deserve to have people calling you can idiot on this forum.

                      Leo,

Don't call Soundtraveler an idiot. He is a boxing insider and very knowledgeable. He's also entitled to his own opinion without having to be insulted for it.
