Hatton moving down to light welter doesnt mean he is avoiding PBF. He can easily make 10stone and that is why he is there. He is not going to be at 147 just for the sake of it;by eating more i suppose and not training.
If Hatton trains hard he makes 10 stone easily, so why not stay there. If PBF dont want to move down then i am sure Hatton will move up beat Mayweathers ass (that is if he hasnt retired out of fear of getting hurt) by decent opponents, and then move back down again.

ricky and team hatton are a bunch of idiots. they don't want to fight, they just want to talk about fighting. How are you preparing for 1 fighter for 3 or 4 years. Is he serious and thinking people buying that fool's gold?

No his plan is to prey on crappy title holders like Juan Urango (and don't anyone dare bring up Mayweather's paper titles becaue Zab Judah and Arturo Gatti are like Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta compared to Urango) until Mayweather shows weakness (like Tsyzu) then try to beat him. Unfortunately I don't think that the fight will ever come off b/c if things play out like they should, Floyd is going up to 154 and Hatton is staying at 140. If Hatton doesn't like fighting at 147 then clearly the fight isn't going to happen.

I think you are right and that is sad. the thing I don't understand about these boxing writers and websites is how can you jump on Mayweather for fighting no real challenges the last few years, but give hatton a pass when he hasn't fought anyone since Tsyzu. And every single interview he mentions Mayweather, why aren't they challenging him then and asking him when ricky. why are you training and preparing to fight somebody for years? How can you adjust to 147 when your fighting at 140? Just ask when!

who cares if hatton faces the coward. i wrote that fight off a long time ago. at least we can hope to see hatton castillo in a real fight, which is what the sport despirately needs after last weekend.

Last weekend was what I thought it was going to be...an easy points victory for Floyd. But (correct me if I'm wrong) didn't you think that Baldomir was going to win? I am not criticizing you for that point of view...just pointing out that some people (clearly a minority but not nobody) thought this would be a difficult fight. Nonetheless I would much rather see a competitive bout. Simply put I don't think you can blame Mayweather for fighting the recognized champ at 147 (that doesn't give him a pass for the 3 previous fights but this fight alone I have no problem with).

I think there is a simple explanation for that...and I am not saying that writers are haters, but they don't like Floyd... and why should they? He is usually a **** when he talks to reporters and constantly tells them that they don't know anything about boxing when they challenge him (even when it is a valid point like that he didn't hold the real title at 140). Hatton meanwhile is friendly with the press especially in Britain and gets more passes from the media. Reporters are people just like you and me and you can't expect them to factor out all of their personal opinions when writing. Part of each writers' style are his opinions etc.
