I think people will watch any reality tv show, because thats exactly wat reality tv shows are aimed at. Making people watch the tv for an hour.
U dont have to like cooking to watch Gordon Ramseys reality show, its just about people arguing and getting pissed off at each other.
Thats really why reality tv is so popular. Its like a real life drama.

I couldnt watch the contender because for 45 minutes there was no boxing, it was just ****.
The kind of **** people watch on some reality tv shows.

Also, i personally have never seen a Manfredo fight since the contender.
Even if people watched the contender, they would have forgotten his name by now.

That is absolutely correct. Reality stars very rarely stick in peoples minds. I mean, can anyone remember the names of any of the Big Brother contestants or would even recognise them in the streets?

You're right, it's tough competition this year. I haven't checked the odds for a while - is that royal tart with the teeth still favourite?

Boxers very rarely win anything on BBC Sports personality. Lewis and Bruno are exceptions. Nas didn't win **** and was only every briefly featured on the show-despite the fact he held numerous belts.

Even though he was good at what he did, he was an *******, which is why he wouldnt get many votes.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the significance of Contender or its populatiry in the UK. The first series of the show was on ITV1. Its now been shifted to ITV4. ITV4 aint available unless you have freeview or a digital box. You dont shift a show which has been claimed to have pulled 10 million viewers to ITV4 (Which is not viewed by many people).

                    Uhuh.

No crap. ESPN2 is on cable. HBO is extended viewing most people don't have.

Geez. I get tired of useless comparisons.

                    1) It's a reality tv show, not a one time event (like I don't a single boxing match with 1 or 2 undercards)

                    2) The viewing audiences are completley different. Cable is broadcast to almost everyhome in america. HBO is not nearly as available.

                    3) If you count the English audience is not as big as American audience.

Now, if you correct this statement and tell me.

"Twice as many English viewers saw the Contender as the last 3 Joe Calzaghe fights"

Then you will have made a correct analogy.

Quite frankly, I don't give a **** who's a bigger name in the UK. I don't live there. I hope Jermaine Taylor kicks Joe Calzahe's ass, and he will.
