It was only a matter of time before Larry Merchant got blown up by a fighter.

That was the most entertaining part of the fight. Merchant's a ****, he deserved it. I'm not a Mayweather fan either, so it was a win-win for me LOL

Larry Merchant has a job that most boxing fans die for, he gets alot of money to watch these awesome fights live and give his 2 cents, but for some reason he's always bored with every fight.

Seriously Larry if you're not happy with what your doing then please retire, we don't need to hear your bitching every fight.

I thought merchant was straight. Maybe next time Mayweather will actually get down with an opponent and try to close the show the way he should.

No Floyd is smart and fights in whatever way that gives him the best chance to win . I don't understand how some fighters get called 'boring' 'lazy' or whatever when they are doing what they are ment to do . Do you really think that every Robinson , Ali, Louis , Leonard,Hagler etc fight was fun ? No they were not all great fights but they did what legends of this sport do they found a way to win no matter how fun it was for the fan watching. I really think Floyd or any other fighter will tell you just don't watch if you don't like it one person not watching is not going to hurt his pockets enough to care or change his style. As a boxing fan or nay sport for that matter you know what comes with the sport and you take the good with the bad and try to enjoy whatever comes out of it .

I never did like Merchant too much(he always tries to make analogies that don't make sense or pretain to the topic). But they are commentators. All he was doing was his job. He commented that it was shut out, but it was also boring. Sure, if your a hardcore fan you can appreciate the beauty of Mayweather's defensive skills(more power to you), but there's only a hand full of those fans. About 70% of boxing fans just wanna see KOs, brawl, blood, and broken something. I beleive Merchant and the other commentators were speaking on their befalf. Like Mayweather said its an entertainment business. You gotta entertain. That night for most people, the fight just wasn't fun to watch.

What do you think of this Ice? Was the criticism warranted or do you think Merchant was trying to take a jab at him?

To be honest I would love to see someone put Larry on the spot like this...but... I have to say that I got impression Larry was about to ask him why he wore the gladiator costume before the fight but then boxed down the stretch when he was able to hit Baldo so easily...Floyd cut him off, though, and went on to do his verbal thing... I just wish Larry would have really insulted him then Floyd doing that would have been more justified AND beautiful I think, I hate to say it too, but I think Larry was about to make a good point and got his legs taken out from under him before he could.... maybe in a way it was just payback for all the times he unfairly put fighters on the spot.
