actually he may have a case, i heard from people there that something was ****ed with the clock, that the TKO came after time had run out, the time keeper was unable to ring the round over as Liakhovich was on their table, but who knows how this will play out.

if anything the fight should have been waved off after the first knockdown... liakhovich was in no condition to continue... the ref being from pheonix gave sergei a chance to finish the fight.

The only thing worse than having Briggs as WBO champion is having to watch these two in a rematch.

fascinating! i think he may have a case as well. he still should've just moved his ass around the ring after he was down the first time. all he really had to do was stay on his feet. that's it. it look as though he fell through the ropes by his self.

anyways, he may have a case. it does sound petty, but his team may be right.

I don't see how it would have mattered because he couldn't have been saved by the bell.

yeah, i would almost agree with that. thing is, just try to imagine who briggs/king would pick for a title defence. tony thompson, matt skelton, or worse - maybe somebody outside of the top ten in the wbo.

Couldn't possibly be any worse than Maskaev's defense.

If anything, Briggs seems like he's very eager to unify. He really wants the fight with Wlad and I'm willing to bet he'd take Valuev on in a hearbeat.
