All ****in around aside, Mexico has produced some my favorite fighters. I love how Mexicans throw down and their is no question Mexico has had the better more storied fighters regardless of proximity to the U.S. Y'all better recognize that the Philippines has also had a storied past in the sport and has contributed plenty, aside from being one of the founding nations of the WBC. Pacho Villa was a great hall of fame fighter, so was Elorde, Garcia, Dodie boy. Except for Garcia who was a middleweight , they all fought in an era where this division was not as popular as it is today. Elored ruled the division for 7 years so there is no question anyone knowlegeable about boxing history would recognize his name. Xcaret know who he is, he's just trying to get to y'all.

I agree pare and as I implied in my earlier post, the thread starter is an idiot for ever comparing the two nations.

WBC's founding fathers were Mexicans Luis Spota and Ramon Velazquez.. Phillppines were one of the Eleven countries to join it to make it big..

Mexico has had the benefit of being more exposed to the boxing scene being nearer to the US.

Most fighters come to the US to fight out hunger and poverty.

If given fair chance of exposure it would be very different. For now, Mexico has edge over the Philippines.

                      Issue settled.
