Floyd is just acting like a ***** like he always does, a real fighter would be fighting until someone did notice. When you toot your own horn as much as he does, there will always be someone waiting to pick your **** apart, so if you're Floyd, you dry your ****ing eyes, you try to be as close to a man as you can, and accept that all of this is your own fault. He's still a great fighter by the way lol
Floyd Mayweather: "Oscar De La Hoya Will Never Be A Legend Like Me"

Oscar De La Hoya has achieved so much more than Mayweather in the ring that it is almost unbelievable. He is an Olympic gold medal winner and has held world title at 6 different weights! Mayweather took an easy fight for a title at 140, took on Judah after Baldi had softened him up, and generally looks for easy fights like Henry Bruselles and Sharmba Mitchell. Don't get me wrong, he's clearly a great fighter but he should shut his mouth when talking about someone like DLH.Comment

WHAT KIND OF DRUGS MAYWEATHER USED?

Yeah,
It's clear Floyd thinks boxing should revolve around him.
But I love this statement, "The fight has to be on my terms not DLH terms"
HAHAHAHAHAHA! LMAO. He will never get the upper hand negotiating with De La Hoya on this, because De La Hoya is the draw, not Mayweather.
As far as boxing skills......give me De La Hoya (before he fought trinidad) fight against PBF. That would be a great fight, and I would give oscar the edge because he is the stronger man, just as fast at that time in his career, and excellent defense.
Currently, of course you would have to favor PBF because he is younger, and at the prime of his career. In just a skills match.
But he will never command the money Oscar commands, Oscar has made so much more money than PBF will ever make because he is more than "just a boxer"
He respects fans, opponents, announcers, and everyone in the sport. It's why he is so loved and commands a lot of money. His PPV buys are so much more than PBF could ever hope to accumulate.
The fight will never be on Floyds terms, it will be at Oscars weight, 154, it will be at a location of Oscars choosing, and Oscar will get more of the split at the gate and PPV buys, and Oscar will get more money for the fight.Comment

I am loving this. At first I thought I was the only one who thought Mayweather was delusional and full of himself but now it's plain for anyone to see that his head is up in the clouds. I bet he actually thinks he's a bigger draw than ODLH.Comment

Same amount of people who saw alot of whitakers outstanding performences, you arent a legend because you have alot of fans, your one because of of what you did in the ring, at this point floyds SKILLS are legendary but right now,...he needs more fights to really elevate himself.Comment
-
Yeah he needs more fights against TOP COMP so that he can demonstrate that he can consistently win against elite fighters. Fighters aren't supposed to argue about who WOULD win if they fought this guy or that guy, they're supposed to prove it and remove all doubt.Comment

I'm not sure what it is but it's one of 2 things....
1.) Either this board has the highest percentage of Floyd Mayweather nut-huggers ever
2.) Or it has the highest percentage of Oscar haters ever
It's one or the other. I can't see how a rational, intelligent boxing fan could believe that Mayweather is "more of a legend" that De La Hoya. Just look at the people De La Hoya fought and then look at the people Mayweather fought.
Look at the amount of PPV buys for Oscar's fights, then look at the amount for Floyd's fights.....there's a dropoff here folks.....
Thus far in his career, despite not fighting spectacular opponents, Pretty Boy Floyd has convincingly dominated every opponent he has agreed to step in the ring with. And when I say not spectacular, I certainly do not mean scrubs. Mayweather has consistently dominated quality opponents. Although, if he wants to be considered one of the best all time, he needs to fight either one or all of the following: Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and/or "Sugar" Shane Mosley. If he chooses to fight just one of them, he needs to win the match convincingly to be legitimately considered one of the greatest. In order to be considered the ALL-TIME greatest, he needs to beat all three of them before retirement, and there is very little probability of that happening. That's the way I see it...
Best pound for pound fighter in the world at the present time? Absolutely. Greatest All-Time? Absolutely Not. If he wants to be remembered as a legend greater than Ali, he needs to beat the best and this he has not yet accomplished, but remains a possibility if he has the will to walk the walk. However, until it happens, Mayweather is just another good boxer at the top of his game among many other equally promising young prospects. Period.Comment
