I think Briggs is someone Klitschko should avoid. He has height, power and fast hands, all things which spell danger to Klitschko. I don't think Briggs would have as much chance to beat Klitschko at his current weight though, he needs to get his weight down.

after wtaching that fight I disagree. briggs looked slow and would be a total sitting duck for wlads jab,,left hook..straight right. that fight is a total mismatch and a slaughter

I can't do it, man. Lyakhovich looked like a man on the way to the gallows before the opening bell even rang....and Briggs was waaay too inactive. If you're fighting for any verson of the World Championship, make me believe you want it! No, he was choking as he always does in a big event; but this time, his opposistion was choking harder. Both men had stage fright....Briggs just happened to punch harder and be just a little less scared of the event than his opponent. Sergei was terrafied of the event AND Briggs...that's why Shannon won. If Sergei had even half the confidence in this fight that he had in the Brewster fight, he would have beaten Briggs.

The event got to him as much as Briggs's power, IMHO.

sure looked that way. I always thought serge was overrated...but my god I thought he was better than what he looked the other night. brewster would have murdered him in a rematch if he looked the same. he just had no snap in his punches and he was as stiff as a board. what the hell happened to him? I need to watch that brewster fight again to see if it was just a bad brewster that night becuase serge looked like a club fighter

I find it hilarious how quick people are to jump on the Briggs bandwagon when he beat and out of shape Sergei, completely mentally unfit to defend his title as shown by his meltdown after the fight. Quick what do Darrol Wilson, Sedrick Fields, and Jameel McCline have in common?

They are all worse than either Sergei of Ibragimov, and they all beat Briggs.

Briggs is an inconsistent heavyweight who fighting at the best of his potential is merely a solid contender. Saturday night he got lucky, period. He would have been easily stopped by the Sergei who beat Brewster, or even the half blind Brewster who lost that fight. You'd have to be a Briggs nuthugger or new to boxing to think Sergei was even close to fit, either physically or psychologically.

I would have disagreed and just called you bitter before I watched the tape of that fight. but after watching it I have to agree. man,,,serge was like a deer in headlights. what the hell happened to him? he looked like a total bum and briggs didnt look any better until the last round
