You write about Floyd like he is a super boxing star and he isnīt, he past welter jr and dont fight with te best fighters like Hatton o Cotto, he fought with Gatti (bull****)

Mayweather isnīt level like Tiger Woods or Kobe Bryant (examples)

americans love to super size everything.

if floyd were a heavyweight so superior to his peers it would be different

i think is floyd not wanting to be liked, Taylor is different he just isnt exiting fro the average fan.

Roy Jones PPVs never did that high, he had a fan following, but he wasnt exactly a super draw everywhere he went. Roys biggest PPV was 500,000 and that was against Ruiz. And even then, yes he was somewhat known to the casual fan, he wasnt that popular, he isnt like a DLH where he could sellout fighting ANYBODY, or a Ray Leonard where people felt his fights were CANT MISS.

Tyson was hated...i mean..HATED guy, which goes back to my point about playing on personality and hate as opposed to nationality and humility. Tyson also fought in the HW division, and he had serious power, and he fought EVERYBODY and boxing politics were slightly less prevelent then.

But my point is, since jones/tyson boxing has gotten worse and worse every year since those guys were in their primes. And in this day, being who somebody like floyd is, with a style like floyd, it makes it hard for him to have that Ray Leonard/Tyson/etc etc popularity, and thats my entire point.

        this era is HARD.

This is very poorly written, but im assuming your saying mayweather hasnt fought cotto or hatton, and if you dont understand why that hasnt happened im not going to explain it.

Mayweather is like Tiger/Kobe because hes seen as a top tier athlete in his sport, so that comparison is valid.

Tyson is the highest earning boxer ever- he had following who liked him.

RJJ- the man even recorded a disk and made shoes with jordan he had a huge following too.

the thing with floyd is that he hasnt fought nobody worth buying in a ppv, even when he fought judah, judah had just lost to an Argentin unkown,
or Castillo wasnt soo big when they fougth, Gatti(shouldnt even have to explain) or Chico he was a jail bird....

he talks ****, when he fights he makes them look like nobodies(exept vs Castillo) so what do you want people to talk about him if he has never been in a super fight.

You are on Floyds nuts bigtime, playing the race card and thinking you know a nation of people and why they root for their fighter. And you are showing your newbie colors if you've never heard a crowd yell, "USA, USA." If Floyd wants to be like some of the legends you mentioned then he should not turn down any top fighter like Margarito. And put the bottle down. This post makes you sound like a bigtime Floyd nuthugger.

Im having a hard time why you keep bringing up tyson when i told you that tyson for one, was a heavyweight, for two he was very much hated, which again like i said, plays on the fact that he had a personality that you either loved or hate, which AGAIN, goes back to my point that with tyson, he got popular not just by knocking people the **** out, but having rediculously crazy antics outside of the ring and talking major **** as well. I agree with you is my point, so theres no need to argue with me about tyson, i agree with you.

As far as RJJ, again, like i said, Roy constantly talking **** and his style took him only so far, your right, he did have that **** with jordan, he did record a rap album which was straight ass. But again, boxing has declined even from that era.

I just feel like floyd has to count more on people who hate him rather than people who love him to make his money in PPV sales etc. Your right, he hasnt been in a superfight, but even if he gets in a couple and wins them, his popularity will only go so far, as boxing doesnt even get on the cover of sports illustrated anymore.

But you know what, you could be right, and i could be wrong, my opinion isnt almighty by any means, and i respect what you have to say, so i very well could be completely wrong, understand that im not implying that my logic is the only logic.

well, since you invited me to the thread, i'll throw a few of my own opinions your way.

there is some nationalism in boxing. i think it's kind of sad because it really shouldn't matter what country a person is from as much as it does in some cases. however, i don't see floyd, simply by being american, as having much to do with his lack of popularity.

race certainly doesn't. at least in most cases. if anything, i see the most amount of hatred in boxing directed towards whites, regardless of nationality.

If floyd wasnt american, if he was latino, if he was anything else other than a black american, he would be 4x what he is now,
disagree. if he would happen to have more fans being latino, it wouldn't be a much greater number than there is now. there might be more, but i don't think i would even go as far as to say that he'd have twice as many fans.

I had a conversation in spanish with a mexican girl i used to date and we talked about how in a match between Mexico vs USA in soccer, and how alot of the fans were being outright xenophobic and racist and making rediculous chants. And she made this comment like "YEA WE STUCK TO THOSE WHITE PEOPLE" like what the **** are you talking about, half that team is black with some asians, mixed race etc. Your not ****in "stickin it" to ****in anyone
that chick is a ****ing moron! so are those people making racists comments.

at the end of the day, as it has been said here by many, nobody likes a guy who kisses his own ass as much as floyd does. regardless of talent, it makes it a bit harder to root for a guy like that for most people.

and whitaker was an incredible boxer. i loved watching him fight.

Id be a floyd "nuthugger" if i didint awknowledge

                    1. He says alot of dumb ****, usually for attention

                    2. Hes an *******

                    3. His popularity even after having several superfights will never be much more than it is due to the fact that boxing never makes the front page news in america. BUT, If he was from somewhere else, he would be hailed as a national hero.

Also, i also awknowledge floyd can lose at anytime, do i think he can lose to baldomir/margarito etc? No. But can it happen? Yes, because this is boxing and anything can happen, i can analyze all i want, floyd could lose at anytime, does that sound like a ****ing nuthugger to you? The topic im discussing is sensitive, and have to be read very throughly to understand the point im conveying, and i dont think someone like you, with you already having a unique grudge against floyd, would ever even try to comprehend.
