I agree, if Toney is in shape I don't see him losing to any of these HW's today.

i dont believe thompson started boxing until he was 25 or 26. he really hasnt taken any of the punishment a fighter his age should have gone through by this point so i think of him as a young 35.

i should also note that for a guy as tall as he is he does a wonderful job of shortening his punches and fighting on the inside. he really killed guinns rhythmn by constantly touching him with punches, i guess it sounds weird to say but he was like a heavyweight kassim ouma

Just watch Guinn against Sergie and you will see that Guinn is better then Brewster, also Guinn's chin is much better then Brewster's.
Yet Likahovich had a much harder fight against Brewster, who managed to knock him down in the process. By the way, what I love about Liakhovich is that he never lost his cool in a Brewster fight. He took the knee knowing exactly what he was doing, calculating to prevent further damage and survive the round. To his credit, those haymakers would have knocked down/out 9 out of 10 HW today.

I honestly can't think of one other current heavyweight contender who could have survived the assualt Brewster put on Liakhovich in the 5th round. No other fighter I can think of could have taken all of those clean shots from Brewster. I was in awe of that ****...still am.

According to boxrec...and we know how reliable they are ....he's not scheduled to fight anyone at the moment. Any idea when he's fighting again?

it was an incredibly smart move by him to take the knee.

he was winning the fight clearly up to that point and it was obvious around the 6th-7th round that brewster had a 2 or 3 round window to knock sergei out or he was going to lose.

brewster came right at him and sergei certainly took the best he had to offer on the ropes before he took the knee...

when he got up from the knockdown and made it through the round i think it had the same kind of negative impact of brewster that he gave to wlad when he got up in their fight... it seemed from the point that lyko got up that brewster pretty much packed it in.

Yea it was harder fight because he took some bombs from Brewster, White Wolf did show a good chin in the Brewster fight, but he really dominated Brewster it wasn't a close fight like the Guinn fight.
