As of today, he is damn near a living legend down here in Houston, TX. I dont understand why people are sleeping on this guy. I hope that with signing with Golden Boy he gets some quality fight..I believe he signed a 3 fight deal...The guy has all the tools to thrive as a champion..My only knock would be his power..he will out point anyone but he aint knocking nobody out..

That due a serious cut he suffered early 05...instead of rushing back he let it heal inside and outside (completely)..It definitely showed because it didnt open in his first fight back...I thinki it was a brilliant move..

cause I have an 8 year old cousin who hits harder than him, but in all fairness she does hit pretty hard.

Juan Diaz isn't a household name because he hasn't beaten a single name fighter. He's got great talent and an exciting style, but he has yet to defend against a name opponent. Also, he is a Mexican-American, not a nationalist. So without a Gold medal, it's hard to work up to that level. In boxing and cross over appeal, you're only as good as the quality of your opposition.
