What round was this? And, Judah hurt Baldomir momentarily. Someone close to Baldomir said Carlos said Judah hurt him with a punch in their fight.

2nd round i think, Mayweathers glove touched the canvas, should've been ruled a knockdown...

Yeah it was the 2nd round. Floyd wasn't hurt. I doubt he would let us know anyway if he was.

It didn't matter in the fight since Floyd won like 3/4 of the fight.

The right glove definently did touch the canvas though.

It should have been ruled a kd, but he didnt hurt Floyd, Floyd threw an off balance right hand that Judah countered with a nice right hook that made Floyd lose his balance.

                Exactly.

It was more of a balance issue, than a "Floyd being hurt" issue.

Also, Zab hits a hell of a lot harder than Baldomir does.

Quickness is not a skill, it's a talent.

I agree on baldo skills. (but I think mayweather is in a skills compartment which is separated from pretty much all active fighters, with the exception of Toney and Wright, but Mayweather adds extra versatility to the two champions above.)

In general we see a lot of dissing on "foreign" fighting styles.

                    take the "central-euro-style".
is it ugly? yes, as f-+k.
is it effective? seems like it is (the hws, germans, kessler

As Kid Achilles pointed out, speed is not a "skill", it's a talent....and ultimately the reason Floyd is ranked as high on the p4p list as he is. Whether or not he's more "skilled" than Baldomir is going to be revealed on Saturday.

A fighter with good well-rounded boxing knowledge and execution can overcome speed.

This fight, I believe, will be a lot tougher than many think. Timing is everything when it comes to dealing with a faster opponent. Zab was fast, too; but he wasn't on the same skill-levle as Mayweather. So, we know Baldomir is skillful enough to beat speed......but can he outskill the faster Mayweather as well by employing the right game plan? If he does employ the right game plan, how well will Floyd adapt? How versatile is he?

The truly great ones are versatile. Leonard and Ali both were known to be shapeless and flow like water in the ring. If the opponent's game plan was better than theirs, they adapted....they found a way to win, all of the great ones do. So, the questions are: Is Baldomir skilled enough to thwart Floyd's natural attack and put him on the defensive; and is Floyd good enough to adapt?

Like I said, Skill-wise, all will be revealed on Saturday; whether Baldomir is skilled enough to beat Mayweather; and whether Mayweather is adaptive enough to alter his game plan in mid-flow.

Remember, he needed his Uncle Roger to tell him how to adapt against Judah.

I have to say this, I was definitely impressed by the way Baldi walked right through the few hard shots Gatti hit him with and always ****** his own hard shots in even as he was being hit, it was like he wasn't even worried about being caught with a shot. And he definitely is alot bigger and stronger than I thought he was. If he isn't intimidated by Floyd's speed, then he certainly has a good chance but he'll have to bumrush Floyd throwing punches the whole time to wear him down. I think this could be a rough fight just because of Baldi's toughness.
