It happens, but doesn't mean Ibragimov is any worse than he was when he fought Austin.

Ibragimov would beat Briggs but I'm not sure if he's ready for Liakhovich yet. I would pick Ibragimov over Maskaev though. Maybe he can outbox Peter as well. Wlad would eat him up at this point. Valuev, well I have no ****ing idea what would happen in that fight. I won't say anything about Valuev right now; the guy looks beatable but keeps winning.

Ibragimov will be on of the key players in the future, either the unified champ or a Jerry Quarry type top contender who will fight the best and win for many years. Guy has some kinks to work out of his style but on raw talent he is really up there.
Your kidding right? Ray Austin is nothing...he got stopped against Attila Levin, got lucky against Lance Whitaker and Larry Donald, got a draw against ZURI LAWRENCE for ****s sake, and won a split decision against Owen "Hit the deck" Beck...and he dropped Ibragimov.

That's true but my gripe with Sultan is that he hasn't done anything since that fight in July. Why not stay busy and keep the fans interested?

Lamon Brewster lost to Etienne and Shufford. Guess he must be **** too, huh? Ray Austin is a solid fringe contender who's only stoppage loss was to Atilla Levine in a fight where Austin floored him. He is not a bum.

Achilles, why should a guy whos fought limited opposition and has only 20 professional fights under his belt deserve a mandatory title shot? IMO, Ibragimov hasn't done enough.

Who does deserve a mandatory shot today? Most of them are so lousy that I'd rather give the guy with the most talent a shot because boxing is losing interest with every crappy PPV card. Ibragimov has talent, like it or not, more so than most heavyweights out there and he will put on a good fight win or lose. Let's not forget that he drew vs. Austin, and did not lose to him. He's still undefeated, has displayed power in both hands and handspeed as well as a durable chin. Why wouldn't you want to see him fight? Who is more talented, who else out there has power in both hands, quick hands at that, and a chin?

Your right that the talent pool is very limited at this moment, however why not make other titlists mandatory? It seems like the sanctioning bodies exclude the other beltholders in the division just for the sheer fact that they hold a belt. Why not make Klitschko or Valuev the number 1 mandatories?

I am not sure how these alphabet title groups, who created them, or how they do business. I know their top ten ranking and mandatory defense system seems pretty arbitrary. My personal philosophy is I want to see the best most exciting fights made, with the most talented fighters possible. Talent is so scarce at the heavyweight division that I really just want to see the best fights made. Ibragimov can fight and puts on a good show so I want to see him. He is also undefeated.

If there were more capable guys out there being ignored I'd rather they fight instead of Ibragimov, but that doesn't seem to be happening. As for the titlists fighting one another, well of course that would be the best case scenario, but it seems like it just never happens.
