Yeah but Rugby is boring as **** and not nearly as tatical as American football.
Floyd talks about the UK in promo...

Just because you don't wear equipment in Rugby doesn't mean it is tougher...I have friend that have played both and say they are both tough, but in Football you don't worry as much to blast somebody with full power because you are wearing pads, plus the helmet is a ****ing weapon.
Also, there are former Rugby players that play in the NFL as punters and they have nothing but respect for NFL players...I would say the respect goes around.Comment

something about a group of guys wearing short-shorts and doing a song and dance just doesn't seem man-like to me. American females are usually the ones wearing the tight clothes, singing and dancing. But hey, to each his own, right?Comment

Rugby is at least as tactical as Gridiron and played at an incredibly fast pace for 80 minutes, rather than Gridiron a game that stops every 5 seconds in order to let the Gridiron players get their breath back.

The fact that American Football stops every 5 seconds, just proves that is it is a far more tatical and thought out game.
There are literally an ENDLESS amount of plays, positions, fakes, that can be set up during these "frequent breaks to catch their breath" (as you like to put it).
Where rugby is a lot more fast paced and played a lot more by ear and flow.
They're two completely different games.
But I think it's fair to say that American Football involves a lot more strategy.Comment

I think it would also be fair to say that Gridiron is also exceptionally boring.
Rugby Union is just a superior sport.Comment

According to the guy who plays on the Jets (the punter), he said the NFL is more tactical, which is also why they are allowed to stop after each play...each position is different in the NFL: you can't have 6'7 340 pound Offensive Lineman and the big guys on Defense, running the pace of a Rugby player.
I don't know a whole lot about the Athletes in Rugby, but I am not sure how they completely compare athletically...I am not quite sure how to compare them really either, so lets just throw out names and pictures on the board.
I would think that the best players in the NFL could play Rugby and the best in Rugby could play in the NFL.Last edited by Abe Attell; 10-28-2006, 06:30 PM.Comment

It may be, but Rugby combines tactics, skill, power, stamina, etc. Whereas Gridiron is simply a stop start bore-fest with far too much specialisation. In Rugby, every player has to cover the pitch and defend and attack. It is just so more multi-layered than Gridiron.Comment
