I agree that people shouldn't care so much about what others do, but if I can't give my opinion on that because it's not my business, then when the **** is OK for ANYONE to give out ANY kind of opinion on ANYTHING not directly related to themselves?
There is nothing wrong with stating your opinion.

But when you say that he is disrespecting the poor by having alot of shoes thats where your opinion turns into an attack.

The truth is, Mayweather does plenty of charity work and donates money to
the poor. You don't hear about those kind of things.

There are just so many that I like, from the past greats from ancient Greece who stories capture my imagination to the Greats of the 20th century like the Great Joe Louis.

I like each of my favorites for similar and different reasons, which is why I really am not sure who I would pick as my "Favorite"...My favorite as a kid was more limited, fighters like Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, and Mike Tyson were the main favorites, but as I got older, I evolved.

If I have to give you one, I would lean towards Joe Louis...Not only do I have respect for his ability as a boxer, and that of a person (which like everybody had flaws), but I think having a Grandfather like so many others that fought in WWII and who himself had a tremendous amount of respect for the man, puts him at the top.

But even with Joe Louis, I watched more of Tyson than any other fighter so he has a place up there too, but like every other fighter he has his flaws and can be placed to the side for a short period so that I can pay attention to another, to learn about somebody I never knew all that much about...my favorites are the fighters that I can continue to go back to in order to see what boxing is "about", to the fighter that is not yet known and keeps me interested in the sport.
So, it is more about saying "Favorites" than "Favorite"
Great answer, I view fighters the same way. But if I really had to settle on one I would probably have to give a nod to Sugar Ray Robinson

it's good to give an opinion, it helps with conversation/it helps add to the discussion about a fighter's positives and negatives

You're right. I did not know about that at all, and if it's true then that's great, he gets much props from me. However, judging by his public persona, it would be very easy to assume that he has not done any kind of charity work whatsoever, which is why I said the "insult to the poor" thing.

Well you wouldn't be alone: the majority of boxers, if not all, end up watching SRR at some point to see what a "Master" boxer is about...and once you see one of his fights, you want to see more...they say there were a number of his fights that are lost to history, but not sure

I do not and will not ever care about fighters' personal lives. HBO needs to cut this **** out and focus on the fight because that's all that matters. Anybody who saw the countdown to Vargas-Mosley II knows exactly what I'm talking about.
i agree. they did kinda ruin the series.

BUT, i LOVED the countdown to WRIGHT-TAYLOR, as their were maybe 3 minutes on Taylors home life, and the rest was boxing.

i think thats the best one yet

Yeah I like the Wright Taylor countdown too. I also like this one, but maybe that's mostly cuz I'm a Floyd fan. I have the Hopkins-Taylor I countdown which I watch every now and then.

When a woman spends all that money on shoes she's immediately labeled a money-grubbing ho, but if Floyd Mayweather does it his fans jump out of nowhere to defend him by insulting other people. Classy.

Oh, and please tell me why I am a "double-standard holding prick"
So now you should decide how floyd spends the money he earns fighting and taking risks? It's his money not yours and he can spend it the way he wants, he has done charity work and given some of his money as well.
