Snakes on a plane was a messageboard phenom, as an artist, im apart of several internet boards and it stormed all the ones i was on. However, the movie itself was a failure in terms of what they expected in revenue. Bob Arum said he couldn't get a date for Margarito on Showtime on his own. He had to use Cotto to get Margarito some TV time. Ever since he lost to Santos, no network even wants to show Margarito at all. This is the reason Tony only fights twice a year...

I think everyone is making too much fuss about Margarito, fighting Mayweather. I think Mayweather learned from Jones, you don't fight no dude that is obsessed with figthing you, because that is all he is fixated on. Margarito cares more about the fight than Mayweather, If Margarito even does well more less beats Mayweather it will catapult him to superstar status, but what does Mayweather get by beating Margarito? Boldamir is cominf off wins of two marquee fighters... And with everyone comparing Margarito with Castillo, "Get the phuck out of here", Castillo would wipe his ass with Margarito...They are too totally different fighters...The only thing they share in common is their Mexican heritage....

that's a good observation, Tony's basically giving Floyd free advertising in the press, I mean he doesn't even pay him a cent but everytime Margarito opens his mouth, the first, last, and every word in between is Floyd Mayweather.

In my opinion, Floyd's turned this whole thing to his advantage and Margarito has become a free insurance policy for him. If Margarito happens to capture an enormous public fanbase, then Floyd can cash in on that policy and fight him for huge $$$. If Margarito gets exposed by someone else, then Floyd can just point his fingers and say "I told you he was all hype."

honestly there was no reason for mayweather not to fight margorito , he fired his own promoter (arum) who he had been praising his entire career, be -cause arum was pushing the fight, and he could of probably got 10 or 11 million to make the fight... mayweather really does fear margoritos style ,he doesnt like too much hard, fast ,strong, young ,pressure and remember what casstillo did to him and i cant blame him .he will probbaly never face that type of fighter again.

Dude, take your head out of your ****ing ass and get the facts straight. Mayweather had been "praising" Arum his entire career? Did you ever hear those two reference each other in interviews over the years? They HATE each other. Mayweather finally diumped Arum because he refused to negociate with GBP. This was a problem because Floyd was chasing DLH and Mosely while everyone was accusing him of ducking no name Tony. The fact that PBF is making this kind of cash and fighting for the linear title 147 should put all of this Margarito **** to bed at least until the end of the year.

A PPV with Margarito would never sell as much, and floyd would be getting less for the ppv shares, Baldomir recently has beaten 2 big names, names that if you add up all the fighters Margarito has faced in his career, they would be still bigger than him. Baldomir recently beat 2 big names and floyd has recently beaten, baldomir is the man at welterweight right now, so floyd for one would be making much more than margarito fight, and margarito brings nothing to the table, if there was a margarito ppv he would get something like 30k buys at the most.

Actually that PPV would make more because he would actually be fighting an opponent with a chance of winning. People would tune in to see how this fight would pan out especially after all the hype it has been getting. You don't have to make excuses just because you know deep down that it is a riskier fight the only thing that Baldy has over Marg is that he has the undisputed welter tiltles. People would watch because Floyd would actually be fighting someone that had a realstic shot of winning. This fight would sell more if not gor the sole reason that all the Floyd haters would tune in to see if Marg could knock his ass out. That alone would sell enough.
