Margarito All Hype No Action?

This is the usual hypocrisy of Margarito fans...

You say Floyd Mayweather should fight the best. It shouldn't be about the money. Well, the only reason to fight Margarito that you guys ever come up with is the 8 million that was offered to Mayweather. Aside from the money, Mayweather has no other reason to fight Margarito because his career to this point is a failure. He is a failure because he hasn't done either of the two things that make people want to fight you: he's not a big name in the sport and he's not considered the best in the division he's in...

Up until recently, no one really cared about Margarito. He was just some random title holder at welterweight. He is just now trying to create some buzz for himself by calling out Mayweather and throwing bags of money his way, but he's still an unknown and 30,000 PPV buys for his last fight is proof of that.

Also, Margarito has failed to fight any legitimate top 5 welterweights during his 10 years at welterweight. There is just no viable argument you could make saying Margarito is the best 147 has to offer. He has fought lower top 10 welterweights at best and he lost to the best opponent he has faced (Daneil Santos).

Saying Mayweather shouldn't fight just for money is a joke when that is all Margarito brings to the table. And don't forget it's about the money for Margarito too. Mayweather would bring him his biggest payday...

When Arum had annoucned or rumored, I forget, that a fight between Clottey and Margarito have already been made, thats when Winky came out and said, I'll fight at 157, i don't recall him saying 154. The Delahoya inccident was a bunch of bs, if you're talking about when Delahoya and Winky wanted services from Margarito to pay him 1 million. The same 1 million Margarito was ALREADY offered by Arum. That bid for Margarito is a joke, you don't offer a fighter the same deal as you're competitor if you are looking for him to work for you, plus Delahoya wanted Margarito and all the profits that go with it, meaning Arum takes no part in the promotion, in translation, Arum makes peanuts while Delahoya rakes in the profits. That offer was a joke, plain and simple. If they really wanted Margarito and wanted Arum out of the way, then offer a real deal and the the 1 million that Arum was already going to pay Margarito. Delahoya offer was an insult to both Margarito and Arum. In all truths plain and simple Winky didn't want the fight with Margarito.

Williams would have been the weakest opponet. None of those fighters made a real offer to Margarito. If Margarito offered them 250 grand do you belive they'd take it, no. Just wait and see how the Williams v. Margarito fight gets dragged on for days if not months for a deal to be made because Williams thinks he deserves to get paid. And thats only happening if hbo or showtime bid big.

I just read this article. Who are you targeting newbies the writer for this article is very ignorant, if he's going to bash Margarito he should at least know what the hell he's talking about. Clottey and Williams opponet are nowhere near the same level. Williams is fighting a fighter that he knows he'll win, Margarito is fighting a fighter that will be tough and is coming to win.

Fighting Williams is a step back for Margarito, but he'll have to take that step since Williams is his mandatory. Williams didn't knock Margarito down, he just took his air out, supposedly, Margarito is the one who knocked down Williams.
