Even though i was rooting for Penalosa, i thought he will lose. Gerry is a good boxer but i thought that his age that his running out of gas in his tank. Great job Gerry.

I don't wanna get a hail storm of garbage for saying this though Penalosa reminded me a lot of Barrera. This was the 2nd time I've seen him in fight live and he has that poised posture and relaxation that Barrera shows in the ring. He has what looks like similar footwork in his movements as Barrera though he was off balance every now and then after throwing a shot. When he was in close, his combinations were rock solid and accurate. He threw everything but the kitchen sink. While I don't see him as a slugger or anything that would resemble Barrera's slugger side, I do see some parallels.

I thought Penaloosa looked a bit sluggish and flat-footed at the higher weight, but he showed a lot of power. I'm wondering if he will grow into the weight and show a bit more movement, or is age simply catching up?
