{cough} {cough}But I did. I called Maskaevs win over Rahman, I told everyone on the boards at the time that Oleg Maskaev was a threat in the heavyweight division, and I recall everyone saying, "he hasn't fought anyone in the last 2 years." When Maskaev ko'ed Rahman for the first time, people thought fluke, and figured he'd never do it again because he was out of his prime. However, when he was embarassing opponents, like Livin Castillo (TKO'ed in 3) and Sinan Samil Sam (UD) nobody saw him coming. I'm not trying to be ****y, just stating that I was not being biased when I foretold of Maskaevs championship mission. He is my favorite current heavyweight, that is until Andrew Golota decides to start punching again, but that's a different story.
Join date, October 2006.... Maskaev fought Rahman in August.. well done genius!

If you look at the polls a significant minority picked Maskeav for the upset. Your nothing special you spud picker! But I did. Maskaev could have manhandle vitali? now i know you are an idiot. Who has maskaev beat beside a one time wonder in rahman huh? lol exactly. Maskaev got ko by 1 eye sanders for godsake mygoodness. Wlad would destroyed mask if they fought, peter would have ko no defense maskaev in 2 or 3 rounds, bryd would have outbox embarrass very slow maskaev, and ruiz would have out wrestle maskaev ( like he did vs rahman). Maskaev ko rahman just proves that rahman is a 1 time wonder. Rahman biggest win was a lucky 1 hit knockdown he did to lewis and the rematch proves the first fight was a fluke where lewis clearly dominating rahman and then in the 4th round BOOM!!!! down goes rahman. After that rahman lost to backthen 39 year old holyfield, lost to ruiz, was fat like crazy weighing 262 pounds vs tua 3, and then after that was beating taxi drivers before landing a number 1 shot at the wbc title. Rahman is sure lucky that vitali was injured cause if not then i bet everybody that vitali would have destroyed rahman easy. To say maskaev could have handle vitali is ******.All, in their prime, respectable opponents, Tua really did a number on Ruiz, I think we all remember that. However, Golota handled himself like a champion against Ruiz, who he beat in my opinion, and against Byrd. I think if he could stop self-destructing, he could be, and should be a heavyweight champion.
Maskaev could beat any heavyweight in the game as of now, I think he wouldn't have a problem with Wlad, Byrd, Ruiz, Valuev, and I think he could have manhandled Vitali if it came down to it. Rumor has it, Maskaev beat Klitschko pretty bad back in the Olympics or Amateurs or something.Comment

Not to mention Goofy Whitaker.... But I wouldnt look too much into the Oliver McCall fight, that was only his 6th pro fight or something.Golota is finished. He will never mentally be able to handle a fight. He will never be in the top. Oleg IMO will never be able to beat Top opposition. Lets see.....got KO'ed by Oliver Mcall, David Tua, Kirk Johnson, and Corey Sanders. Everytime he has stepped up to the plate he's gotten knocked out. I hate to say I told you so...............
And I agree that Golota is done. He has had like what- 5 title shots, 3 of them were in a Row. It aint gonna happen.Comment
