hmmm well although theres no way he won the first fight with Hopkins, the 2nd hmmm i'll give just because he wuz the champ even tho he shouldnt have been...the Wright fight...hmmm good call i believe...JT does have heart, does have talent, but the lik bastard better learn how 2not overpursue on his punches..makes him sloppy....but i'll give him respect..he is gr8 thanks to HBO..he needs 2step up in weight and fight some guyz his size tho...like........hmmmmm Calzaghe
I think Jermain Taylor will be the best.

I think that Ouma's high punch output if he starts early will give Taylor some problems. I've noticed in some fights that Kasim has trouble getting out of 1st gear. Remember I said that Taylor definately needs to work on his defense especially moving backwards. I'm pretty sure that he has been training hard so we'll see come fight night how he handles it. With the wins over high profile fighters should give a boost of confidence, plus the fact that he is fighting in his home town. I'll go for Taylor by late round TKO!Comment

of course that doesn't SOLELY mean you win fights, but it EASILY plays a big role in the overall definition of a boxer... it's just one advantage that Ouma will have over Taylor.. Ouma is also better technically imo (and we all saw how great an advantage that was for Winky
) and he picks better combinations to throw and when to throw them.. he's got great timing in the ring... there are many characteristics for both fighters in this fight
And as i mentioned elsewhere, if Taylor looks to simply knock Ouma out, he's going to have alot of problems in the fight. Ouma isn't "always open" either, he's one hell of a pressure fighter, he'll keep you off your offense with his. And as we saw in the Wright fight, Taylor didn't exactly do spectacular when Winky would open up with punches.. and Ouma will do this x10
and while Ouma does go down easier than others, he gets up... he's mostly prone to "flash knockdowns" but Ouma has never been knocked out in any of his 29 previous fightsLast edited by restless_438; 10-19-2006, 10:20 PM.Comment

If you think Wright landing more punches wins him the fight, you're out of your mind. Taylor hits twice as hard so Wright has to land 3-4 punches for every 1 Taylor lands to win a round. I'd rather be hit by Winky's best punch than Taylor's worst punch any dayComment

that's close to the stupiest thing i've ever read... when you turn on your tv, do you watch "boxing" or "punching" Diego?
The power of punches doesn't mean **** if it doesn't produce results.... what results did Jermain's power have in his fight with Winky?, making his wrists sore from all the glove shots??? cause he sure has hell didn't hit his face very often..
not to mention the word "accuracy".. and i could go all-day with that
not to mention generalship as well, i could honestly go all-day with points about this, but you're a Taylor hugger... oops.. i mean "fan", so i can't have a standard "debate" with someone with a one-sided opinion..
Taylor's got my vote for heart, courage, and the talent-to-grow/learn... but that's where the line ends at this point in time.
oh, and about your "logic" from the quoted above, trust me, Wright lands a "few" more than 3-4 punches than does Taylor 1 power punch.Last edited by restless_438; 10-19-2006, 10:28 PM.Comment

besides the general logic of your post
if taylor hits twice as hard, winky should hit him with anything above twice as much to win a round
your "3-4 punches for 1" ratio is the mathematical proof of your bias.Comment
