    49-0 is Nothing Special

i just found out that this danish guy in '99 beat tim witherspoon for his 49th victory in his 49th fight. biran nielsen finished his career in 2002 with a record of 64-2 with 43 KOs. however, his record is brimming with morbid competition at best. but he got to 49-0, and yes, his whole career was spent in the HW division.

btw, julio cesar chavez got to 88-0 before the first blemish on his record.

so for those who are talking about valuev "getting closer and closer to 49-0" remember this: a welterweight and a dane already did it. who gives a **** if valuev makes it to 49-0 and "breaks marciano's record"? its been done already.

Right, the point is you have to retire with 49-0 or better and no one has done it since the Rock.

Also to say it's nothing special is just ridiculous. Chavez was a great fighter and anyone who went 49-0 and better before their first loss was either an exceptional boxer or fighting complete tomato cans.

Yes, we have already discussed this, but if you didn't see the thread before, IT IS ABOUT WHO YOU FOUGHT, HOW YOU BEAT YOUR OPPONENTS, ETC.

DM and Larry Holmes both got to 48-0, but lost their next fight.

Also Ricardo Lopez retired 51-0-1 I believe, he drew once but never lost a fight either.

In professional boxing 49-0 is outstanding.

Neilsen lost his 49th fight to ****y Ryan I believe. Holmes also lost his 49th to Spinks. No Heavyweight has every duplicated that feat before. Valuev could get to 55-0 and it wouldn't matter he'll never be the Rock. He won't he will lose before his 49th also.
