    Is Erik Morales Featherfisted?

you decide. this guy hasn't KOed/dropped anyone in a long ass while.

Maybe the reason he KOed some of his opponents early in his bantam-feather days, is always because HE IS ALWAYS BIGGER THAN THEM 2 times. Now that he fights opponents his size, he can't hurt them at all. Heck, he couldn't even KD a bloodied up Pacquiao (natural featherweight, much smaller than him) in their 1st fight.

pls vote and put your thoughts.

I think he has lost a lot of his power since moving up in weight. But the same thing happened to Arguello, so it is nothing new.

I think opponents that are his size at 130lbs takes better punches than the small opponents he fought in bantam and featherweight. Morales doesn't strike me as a hard puncher.

i'd have to agree with ya there. A lot of his KO's came from when heas fighting at i belive 122llbs. Maybe moving up in weight has forced him to box more and not trade as much

              Always trying to discredit fighters....

Morales is not feather fisted, you are right though he hasnt knocked anyone out in a while, but thats probably because he hasnt fought a Velasquez or a Fahsan 3K battery in a long time too.

He might not be the strongest puncher p4p in boxing (Rafael Marquez is the current one) but fighters he's faced attest to his respectable punching power even in comparison of some other big punchers.

Its really easy to analyze imo.... Morales is nearing retirement he isnt the same fighter he used to be, and his competition is still the best.... not really what u want if ur goal is to have a bunch of knockouts.

I brought the Winning Gloves issue because this is valid. Morales' KD/KO ratio has gone down dramatically since he wore these brand of gloves, which is soft gloves and known to decrease power, but protect brittle hands.

He was at one time, but the bigger opponents probably made the difference. He had some devestating kayos at 122 though.

3k Battery is a bum yes, but Velasquez is legit tough Mexican. Rocky Juarez didn't even hurt that guy.
