Beyer on the Other hand would have in my humble opinion been KOd by Lacy within 5 rounds.. KOed By Calzaghe within 5 rounds and would never had been champ if he didn't recieve as MANY gifts as Sven Ottke.. Seriously I have seen about 10 Beyer fights (have you watched Eurosport in the last 5 years?) and The guys SKILLS were average at the best of times.. His Power average and his CHIN average.. Kessler MAY indeed be the next BIG thing... but basing it on beating Beyer is really just shooting yourself in the foot when comparing him to Joe Calzaghe
    Crap.

A majority had Lacy their favourite but far closer to 55% than 99%.
In any case it's irrelevant as Lacy and Kessler are not compareable types.
As for noone calling Lacy a bum before. Well maybe not a bum, but questions were certainly asked about his skills before the fight. NOT LEAST BY KESSLER SUPPORTERS - who felt Kessler would have been a far better challenge. There weren't many of of then. But glad to see it is finally changing.

Last part i agree with. It is wrong to judge Kessler solely based on the Beyer fight. And frankly i'm surprised at how suddently things can change here. But it's a change that's long overdue.
Judge Kessler based on his whole Career, but take into consideration he's young and has only reached top-level in his last 4-5 fights.
Also take into consideration that it's difficult for an unknown dane to land big fights. You can critisize his resume. But i believe his past 4 fights are possibly hardest he could possibly have made under the circumstances. Yet he's come out of each one looking impressive.

Questions have to be asked of Kessler's skills as well - for the simple reason that if Lacy was untested against the best then Kessler is even more so going on each others resume. I'd like to see what happens when somebody decides to get close to him.

He looks good though. Not great, but good. But then so did Lacy. We'll never know until he fights a real top one which hopefully will happen soon.

Well I was a member of another SITE at the time of the Lacy Calzaghe.. Am I wrong to assume opinons here were different.. I placed a bet on this fight here in the UK and JC paid 8-1 so even here in the UK he was the underdog..
I will Agree that if I were a Kessler suporter I would be mentioning his Victories over Mundine Lucas and even Herny Porras as abetter example of him being for REAL... I am also thankful to not have to hear about Beyer anymore.. So he deserves a PAT on the back for that

8/1? I need to meet your bookie. I couldn't get better odds than 6/4.

Ah, 7/1 on the UD. That's still a damn sight better than I was forced to take. Thank your father in law!

I believe calzaghe got alot off bad press for his last bout but really it was a hard bout vs a very strong and dangerous fighter who was DIRTY as Hell with thos head butts and he won pretty easy for my side anyway, the guys still the number 1 man in the division u cant get on his back he ant gonna beat ppl like he did Lacy every fight tht jst never gonna happen, Joe should really get on Hopkins back and Kesslers get them two fights in the pipe line send Kessler back to denmark in a hospital would pretty much be the outcome frm one bout

This article was interesting. It hit on some very good points in regards to Cal's opposition & who he should fight.
