As WBO and IBF super-middleweight Joe Calzaghe contemplates conquering America, the legendary Sugar Ray Leonard was today on hand to give him so advice about just how to do so.
The pair talked privately for around 20 minutes ahead of a London press conference, before fielding questions about the impact of Calzaghe's stand-out win over Jeff Lacy and his HBO debut on Saturday.
Meanwhile Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren revealed he has opened negotiations with Danis promoter Mogens Palle for the Welshman to meet WBC/WBA super-middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler in February a unification fight on HBO.
If that fight takes place it will probably do so in Europe - with Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, a 40,000 capacity and a 2am start time the favoured option for Warren - but there is a possibility that Calzaghe could travel to the States in February to make his debut on American soil.
Bernard Hopkins may be tempted out of retirement for a $10million purse, while Ronald Winky Wright and Jermain Taylor are also viable options.
And early on Monday, former welterweight light-middleweight and middleweight world champion Felix Trinidad expressed an interest in fighting Calzaghe.
US consultant to Sports Network, Jay Larkin, described the opportunities now awaiting Calzaghe as "endless", while a spokesman for HBO said the 34-year-old's hard-fought points win over Sakio Bika had impressed all those watching in the states.
Leonard also admitted to being impressed in the highlights he had seen, and backed Calzaghe, who drew 4.82million viewers on ITV1, to beat Hopkins - and for that matter anyone else - if he could repeat his Lacy performance.
"I think Calzaghe's style, if he repeated what he did against Lacy, the way he fought, if he fights anyone that way he will win. That was so masterful, that was perfect, that was so sound he can beat anyone."
