Librado Andrade 1# WBC contender!

You know - Kessler and Andrade sparred in LA early 2005. Reports from those sessions suggests that Kessler toyed with Andrade. I know one shouldn't put too much into sparring. And i know the reports might not be accurate. But i really don't expect Andrade to be a major concern for Kessler.
On the other hand every fight - especially one against a top-10 guy - carries a risk. So you never know.

Try this link for the more or less official "nice" version. Keep in mind that it was written at a time when Kessler had just taken the WBA-belt, but was virtually unknown.

For the less respectfull version, i can't give you a link. But someone posted in one of the boxing-forums (don't remember which one - most likely ESB - and don't remember who the poster was) that he'd witnessed the sparring and that Kessler made Andrade look pretty bad.
Now i have no proof - and i don't expect you to believe me. But perhaps if you read between the lines of the linked article, you'll find that my suggestion might not be too far off. (local reporter not out to discredit Andrade).

Sorry if this offends. Don't really want to be disrespectful to Andrade. But debating who would come out on top i do think it's fair to bring it in. Make of it what you will.

Kessler was in preparation for the Mundine fight - He'd have to either bring in sparring partners or go look them up.
La Habra apparently came up because both Andrade, his brother, and some other guy there were consideret very good opponents at SMW to LHW. It would have cost a fortune to bring three guys in. Cheaper to go there himself.

Anyway - thanks for crediting me for setting up this boxing site with few minutes of notice - if that's what you are suggesting.

I actually seen Kellssar spar Sam Soliman, and to be honest Soliman got the best of Kellsar - the video was from youtube. So im not saying it imppossable to say Kellssar got the best of Andraded, but I seen Soliman get the best of Kellssar. So i don't know how much leverage you want to put on a sparring match.

Yeah, thats a long trip just to come down for sparring. And im assuming they stayed for a few weeks.

I've seen the Soliman clip too and you'r absolutely right. Kessler does look crap in that sparring session. Part of the reason might be that this happened (this is fact - not a guess) shortly before the fight - After the original date had been cancelled. Kessler had had a slipped disk in his back and it reduced the amount of sparring he got ahead of the fight to next to nothing.

I belive he is Kelssers mandatory. But somone did say his next fight will be against Mundine, but i would think his mandatory would be first but we'll see. This is the only fight i've seen of Andrade and i can already tell he can compete with the top fighters. My question is how do you think Kellsser will do against Andrade since he's his mandatory?
