....Calzaghe wants to prove something for sure. He has already said that he will come over here for the fight if that's what it takes. Hopkins still has plenty left as evidenced by the Tarver fight, and lets not forget the two Taylor fights were nearly dead even. If Calzaghe handily beat Hopkins then I think it says alot about who Joe really was for all these years.

Calzaghe has been talking like he has wanted these fights for years but that doesn't actually mean he has wanted them. Also, keep in mind what kind of fighter Tarver was stylistically compared to Hopkins... and Tarver was no young man himself.

Also, I know how close the fights were since I had Hopkins winning both or a draw. But if you take a couple years off the clock I think it's clear Hopkins wins more easily.. so even if he manages to put up a fight it's hardly a top-shape Hopkins in my eyes.

There's alot of man love in this thread which is scary. Anyway it's funny how posters want to give credit to Bika but where was the credit to Collazo for given Hatton hell? I agree with Dirt E on this one; let's wait & see if he makes a big fight. Instead of mentioning a 41 year old semi-retired Hopkins why not go after the man that beat him in Taylor. I doubt JC wants him because stylistically that's wrong for him.

JC has said in interviews that he would have no qualms about taking out Taylor. His father (Enzo) said that JC is ducking them.
