if you don't understand p4p, then you don't understand any American sports. rankings systems, dudes. Ohio St. is #1 in football. if they have an off week (as in they don't play a game that week), they don't drop to #2. lol. to drop down, you pretty much have to get beat or look bad against weak opposition. this is how boxing's p4p works. if Mayweather fights once a year the next 5 years but dominates his competition, he's still #1 until he gets beat. you can't drop out for nothing.

AWWWW **** me.......It's not that I don't understand it is just that I really don't give a **** about P4P I think it means little.....its merely opinion and everyone has one.I would say to me #1 PBF #2 Winky I really would'nt venture past that because then it becomes a bunch of **** and a popularity contest..........as far as P4P goes.

case in point in college football last week: USC was #3 but struggled against Washington St. in a close game and Auburn was #2 but got blown out by Arkansas while Florida (#5) stomped the hell out of #9 LSU so naturally they should move ahead of both USC and Auburn and even West ******ia, who was playing nobodies forever (something Calzaghe has done his whole career)

Jermain Taylor beat #1 Hopkins, beat him again, and drew with #2 Wright. Plus Taylor is undefeated. It is only natural that Taylor is in the top 4.

How you all don't grasp this is beyond me and really questions your intelligence. No offense of course.

it's not hard at all. you look at who they beat. Pacquiao crushed Barrera and Morales and looked great in both fights. I wouldn't care if Pacquiao was behind Taylor considering beating Hopkins is definitely harder than beating Barrera and Morales. HOWEVER, like I said, Pacquiao obliterated those guys with KO's so Pac is a pretty solid #3. Taylor is definitely #4. Hatton is 5th (undefeated and beat better opposition than Calzaghe but worse opposition than Taylor). Calzaghe is 6th on mine, followed by Barrera. I'm amazed at how many people have Barrera in their top 5. I think that's laughable.

I would swith Hatton and Calzone but thats just me and Hopkins is top6 or 7 too is he announces that he is actually going to fight again and becomes unretired.........But these are like I said my opinions......just because you may not agree does not mean they are not valid to some.

Hopkins is definitely 5th or 6th if he stays active, but Taylor did beat him twice AND Taylor is undefeated and drew with Wright #2 so you can't put Hopkins ahead of Taylor. It's that simple. Not opinions at all really.

It's not an excuse unless you NEED to make them. Calzaghe beat a top, tough (and dirty) super-middle by a fat margain. No need for excuses.

diegofuego is an ignorant little ****er isn't he.

anyway, re the p4p titles - it is fact that the holders of the p4p title are the least likely to clean out a division.

the press, media and most fans will praise them for their relative dominance over less than the best fighters and their past accomplishments, and the get tons of accolades for going on cruise control and talk. that is what i hate about the p4p title (if you could call it as such).

As P4P is a theoretical postulation, is it really based on facts and figures like Diego claims? I think not.

it's not difficult to rank a guy with no losses AND better wins ahead of a guy with no losses and zero big wins.
