      1) It's his first time on HBO and he wanted to impress (He's fought on Showtime for years).
That's just quibbling and you know it. I think you damn well there's a difference between "fighting on Showtime when no one gives a ****" and "fighting on HBO now America has suddenly had its eyes opened."

      2) He had to pull out of a July date he was really looking forward to (It's October)
By which he means he was rusty. That much is obvious, surely?

      3) He had an injury (I'm shocked)
So that's just three then? (not four as in the thread title.

Calzaghe is a treat to watch at his best, so I'm not trying to discredit him. But to anybody debating p4p status as it related to Calzaghe, you never see Mayweather, Wright, Pacquiao, or Taylor have an off night unless it's against another p4p or cust of p4p fighter. Calzaghe belongs about 6th in the list right behind Hatton
Jermain Taylor never have an off night??? Most of the members here don't even think he won/drew his last three fights.

Bika was one of those guys who was a dirty fighter and even a subpar Zaghe beats him pretty easily.
I think Joe was on "Hight Alert" with Lacy, that is partially why he looked better

Taylor fought Hopkins twice and then Winky...first, that says a lot about who Taylor is, and second/last, You can argue for Hopkins winning the first fight, which I don't think he did since he came on to late, the second fight he clearly lost, and the fight with Winky was very close, and can't remember who I thought won.

Both Hopkins and Wright were on the "P4P" list...Bernard may be old, but he was still Active, and still good, not in his prime, if he was I would favor him without question, but he was still good nonetheless...Wright, no need for explanation.

joe fought wild and ****y, like a young camacho, and as a result put himself into harms way against a stronger man far more than he had too. no matter his gifts and he has some, he is 34 and you are right, calzaghe should fight smarter. he should start to conserve and barter his tools.

edit- i just feel calzaghe really has a feel for the sport. he always seems to win on his terms. i would favour him over kessler because kessler seems too robotic, musclebound and slow and he will be forced to be the puncher against a master boxer puncher (or should i say slapper? )

Beating Hopkins in two close fights and drawing with Wright as off nights? You serious, Anorak? You think Taylor is THAT good already???

read my post, man. I said off nights against p4p fighters. and if you think he had off nights against Wright and Hopkins, does that mean you think he would dominate them on a good night?

Hatton's coming off the worst performance of his life when he could barely move against Collazo, and you have Hatton as a top five lb4lb? He only fought once last year! That's crazy. I don't understand the criteria for lb4lb these days..
I really don't even look at P4P **** it........But I agree with what you say here all of it.
