Lets face it, if Hopkins didn't cry like a ***** after the first fight, no one would've even talked about that fight, Hopkins was the loved champion and his bitching still didn't help him in the polls.
I dont even like Hopkins. I wanted Taylor to win but he really didnt do enough to take the title away from him.

Losing only 3 rounds is more then enough to take titles away, I guess you and all the people that Hopkins winning were blinded by the last 3 rounds. This fight was not even close, that is if you score each round.

Hopkins the loved champion... dont be ridiculous, for his accomplishments hopkins is one of the least loved champions in boxing history.

If anything taylor is the media darling with his gold medal, and his attitude.

If you scored only 3 rounds for hopkins in the first fight, well your misunderstanding of boxing rules is not my problem.

or some ppl are so crazy to think that only EFFECTIVE aggression is to be taken into consideration when scoring rounds... oh wait they just read the rules of the sport

hmm watching the eastman fight would have given you a good hint, that hopkins was ready to be beaten by someone who could be very active.

the fact that before that he fought Oscar (a much smaller man) and could not stop a fighter he had already stopped should tell you something on hopkins' ring age by the time he fought Taylor.

Another BS excuse, Hopkins was P4P #1 boxer in the world, after he lost twice to Taylor he goes beats the greatest light heavyweight in the world in tarver.

I am really curious of what bull**** you can come up with to back up your ridiculous assertion.

Taylor IS the media darling, to prove that to your biased mind, just listen to the HBO crew during his fights.

As for hopkins being "loved", he may be loved now that he is 40+, he was robbed and retired (hopefully), but during his reign he was never even remotely near to De La Hoya or Tito in terms of popularity, he was always the bad guy, who answered in enigmatic ways to most interviews. He fights dirty, his style is exciting only for hardcore fans, that know enough about boxing to appreciate his technique (no special speed, no special power, not always coming forward, just a cagey tough fighter from philly with a big brain).
