Yes he would. To say he wouldn't is igoniring the fighters he has beat already. If he beats those people with no contraversy you can't ignor him and his skill. The comisions now a days won't let a champion fight every other week so he can't do what sugar did but that shouldn't take any thing from floyd.

The hardest opp would be oscar because of size and they are some what close to skill level. Floyd has already pointed flaws in shanes style and I think castillo has a better pressure style than hatton

      Mark my words:

If CASTILLO couldn't beat Mayweather (even when he's fighting with one arm albeit) by pressuring him, there's no ****ing way in hell Hatton is going to.

I see your point about fighting often, but I still would never rate Floyd as highly. Look at the last 3 years of his career. SRR never fought a series of opponents so weak even after he was over the hill. Floyd has managed his career much more carefully (and while that makes him smart and rich, it doesn't make him the #1 fighter of all time in my mind).

I'm sorry but if Floyd had these names on his resume when it was all said and done:

            Oscar De La Hoya
            Winky Wright
            Shane Mosely
            Ricky Hatton
            Miguel Cotto
            Diego Corrales
            Jermaine Taylor
            Jose Luis Castillo (x2)
            Arturo Gatti
            Genero Hernandez
            Carlos Baldomir
            Zab Judah
            Jesus Chavez

And say he retired undefeated middle weight 6 division champion of the world... you're telling me I couldn't even make an ARGUEMENT that he was best fighter that ever lived?

Don't get me wrong, I highly doubt that would ever happen.

But the point of that was to show that no matter what Floyd accomplishes in his career, he will (in your mind) never be considered the greatest... simply because he doesn't fight week in and week out? Give me a break.

I agree and I think people will see when/if Castillo and Hatton fight next year.

As for the topic question, If Floyd beats DLH, Mosley, Hatton, and Cotto then he will be one of the best ever. Margarito is STILL a nobody and will mean absolutely nothing in 5 years if he doesn't get some quality victories. Throw in Spinks or Karmazin (or another legit champ at 154) and Floyd has to be considered top 3. Beating Taylor or Winky????? Be serious. Floyd fought in the Olympics at 125. For him to go to 160 and beat the champ would be damn near impossible and he ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY MUST be considered the best ever if he did that. In reality, he shouldn't even be able to go to 154 and win, but thats how talented he is. Some people get so caught up in hating him because of his personality that they forget how amazing his career already is. He has been the man in 4 divisions (after Nov. 4).

Lets say he would of taken those big fights earlier and won were would he be now. Fighting contendors and people would be saying oh well that kid wasn't ready for floyd or why is floyd fighting youngsters. Robinson was great but I don't think I want to see the same guys fight eachother more than 3 times.
