You guys are trying to talk about Paul Williams not fighting Collazo on three weeks notice, yet Margarito couldn't make a fight with Collazo after 10 months to look for an opponent...
Paul Williams Returns on Mayweather-Baldomir

He's scheduled to fight Hercules Kyvelos that same day in Arizona. That's why I didn't add him.
You know who would take this fight in a heartbeat? A man named Emanuel Augustus. Not only would he take the fight, but he'd take young Paul Williams to school. Of course, he'd lose a controversial split decision, but real boxing fans will get to see what Williams is made of.
There's no way Augustus would jump to 147 to fight Paul Williams.
Not happening.Comment

Once again, King made the negotiations impossable. King wanted too much mooney, more then his fighter is worth.
You should understand, King doesn't let his fighters face Margarito.Comment

His match makers most have a lotta faith in him when they put him in there against Rivera, in Rivera's home town. Not to mention Collazo's a better boxer than Williams, plus is a south paw as well, this would be a good, even fight. Williams would have to prepare for Collazo in a three week notice as well, thought about that? Still, I think they're both hungry and this would be a do-able fight.
The bottom line is that no matter how much you try and twist it, Collazo's handlers aren't dropping him into a fight with Paul Williams on 3 weeks notice.
It's not fiesable and its not going to happen.Comment

"It's not fiesable" LOL! 3 weeks is not fiesable? And yet you have A.Moores pic in your avatar and you're going to spit that bs, unbelivable - newbie.
As mentioned, "you must not know Emanuel Augustus."Comment

It's a different era, and you already tried this excuse pages ago and were laughed at.
A top 10 or 15 opponent isn't going to risk stepping in a dangerous fight on 3 weeks notice. Come off it.
And I've forgot more about Augustus than you've ever known. He's never fought at Welter, and wouldn't walk into a style and size miss match at a weight he's never even fought at.
You don't know what you're talking about, and only posted in this thread because you're upset Margarito ducked Williams. End of.Comment

Sure Augustas is going to turn down a decent pay day, a fight in which he is in a win/win situation, sure. It's a different era, and you already tried this excuse pages ago and were laughed at.

Obviously, you don't know what you're talking about. Both the Dillon Carew and Ray Olivera fights were contracted at Welterweight. Just because Augustus stepped in the ring 3 pounds light, doesn't mean he didn't fight at that weight class. Ray Olivera came in 5 pounds heavy for his Welterweight fight and Augustus took the fight (and schooled him) regardless. That's the fight where Augustus landed the infamous double punch.
Augustus is a warrior and he's always willing to take short-notice fights anywhere from 135-147.Comment
