    or maybe three
Who has Floyd fought that was a "bum"? Bruseles is the only fighter in the last few years that was no good. And Floyd only fought him to force the fight with Gatti. You're trying to tear down a legend in the making and you're forced to try to tear down a lot of good fighters to do it.

like kfootball15 said mayweather probably has the best skills ever, running next to Ray Raobinson, but it's the fights and the caliber of opponents that will determine if he can be considered great by the fans. we're the ones who give someone the label of being great, not the fighter himself.

if floyd beats everyone he fights effortlessly, then there is somehting to be said about the caliber of opponents that he's fighting.

what makes a fighter great in the eyes of the fans and the general public is seeing the fighter go through adversity, having to dig down and use every once of his will to win the fight. that or losing and coming back winning the rematch. but there has to be drama, adversity, and obsticles inside the ring in order to elevate one to great status.

a chef is given the title chef because he is recognized by his peers, not because he calls himself a chef.
i say the same rule applies when someone is calling themselves great or the greatest, it's up to the people to decide not the person calling himself that!

he shoulve fought Kosta/Hatton.....Margarito, and another top ten ranked welter...go eat a hoe hoe ,chubby.
Floyd has been calling for Kostya for a while and Hatton has turned down the fight a few times, Margarito proved how much of a man he is by fighting Clottey instead of his mandatory. Apparanetly he doesn't want the big fight too bad otherwise he'd be getting his mandatory out of the way. While Margarito is fighting Clottey and Williams, Floyd will be fighting the real WW champ (Baldomir), Mosley and DLH. argument over.

also there is a saying in boxing " a fighter that is undefeated is a fighter that hasn't fought anybody "

to a certain extent that is true, but in this case in the current point and time in mayweathers career it's about 50/50................... it can be argued either way, but that statement holds a lot of water when you really think about it. if a fighter hasn't been really challenged then his credibility gets tainted until we see that fighter in a rough fight.

actually Mosley is in negotiations with Marg...for after the Clottey fight. if that doesnt work out he is due his mandatory(williams)..Mosley was the mandatory but he stayed at 154 to fight Vargas again...

a fight with Mosley is more notable then a fight with Dela sice Mosley beat him twice and was once considered p4p king.

N'Dou was 31-1 with 30 KO's, Corley was fresh off a loss FIGHTING JUDAH FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP (My god you are ******). Thats saying Hopkins is no good anymore because he was fresh off a lost to Taylor. Sosa hadn't lost in 3 years (which was to Spadafora IN A CHAMIONSHIP FIGHT). And Mitchell had lost twice since 1994, both to Kostya Tszyu FOR CHAMIONSHIPS.

You may be a junkie, but you shouldn't call yourself anything that has to do with boxing
