    mayweather? what's the deal?

i recently heard mayweather telling camera crews he's the best there ever was in the sport of boxing. though i think mayweather is a good fighter, he is not one of the greatest. honestly, who has he fought that was worth a damn? not de la hoya, mosely, trinidad, hopkins, pac-man, barrera, morales, jurez. he's fought a bunch of bums or fighters past their prime or fighters that have been hit one too many times in the brain(gatti). mayweather is on the right track with baldi, but if mayweather beats him who's next? de la hoya or mosely, i think jr's gonna lose his status as a pound for pound, for the simple fact that he's finally steppin up to fight with the bigg boys.

he has already lost his status as #1 P4P to true boxing fans...he won't get it back with Baldi though...

IMO, and i WILL get yelled, he is the most talented fighter ever. Maybe under sugar ray robinson, thats it for me.

He hasnt fought the opposition yet, but he will soon, and he's sure to pass the test.

IMO, he will be the greatest of all time by the time he retires.

only problem is, everyone in the top 5 before him was a great person outside the ring, mayweather is far from that...

I think you hit it right on the money with "big boys". Floyd doesn't belong at 147 or 154. He should go back down to 140 and continue dominating on those weight classes. But, if you wanna be great, you gotta keep doing what Floyd's been doing and keep challenging people up the weight classes.

Currently he is the most talented and skilled boxer we have. He displays tremendous skill and preparation when he gets in the ring.

hes potentially 1 of the greatest, but not yet,his talent and skills r absolutely amazin and no 1 can question them, his opposition is the only question, but in my opinion,he has fought better fighters than hatton, cotto, baldomir and margarito, and margarito as far as im concerned didnt even deserve that mention

proved it how? he hasn't fought the best that's out there....period.

                Winky Wright..

                Pac...

even Jermaine Taylor, just beat Hopkins( who just dominated Tarver) and he just fought Winky..

Floyd aint fought anybody in three years..dont give me this crap about taking light fights every now and then ..it's been three years...
