the media just like to be a part of the action, theyre always gonna try to give the fighter a little boost if they get the chance.

i mean what if it werent for the nice media members who cradled michael moorers head after tua blasted him unconscious through the ropes, there may have been some permanent damage there if they just let his head dangle around for awhile.

I agree with those saying McClellan could have scored a first round TKO if not for that ref. I saw the fight for the first time a few months ago and I couldn't believe how often the ref stopped McCellan from attacking for an extra 3-4 seconds after they were tied up and after the knockdown.

Also, it was not only the time-to-recover factor, but clearly the ref frustrated McClellan multiple times, and how can he focus and execute as precisely as he could have if he were able to keep a cool head about himself. I do believe he would have finished the fight early and who knows where his career would have gone after that.

It's tragic to think about, though.

if the people here actually watched the fight they would have seen that later on when mcellan was hurt the ref gave him time

in the first round benn was getting beat badly but his legs were still there he was still defending himself and his eyes were mostly clear

The refdefinatly gave Benn time, but maybe it was because Benn was trying to get back in through the ropes.

I dont know wat the rules say about if a fighter goes through the ropes. He would have got up before 10 if he wasnt struggling with the ropes.

I think McClellan had many chances to finish Benn in the fight, but he couldnt.
