Easily, Benn was all over the place, if that fight was today it would have been stopped.

If you're referring to him having a long count, the same rules apply today, a fighter is allowed more than 10 seconds if he's knocked out of the ring. Regarding The referee, he was poor, but he [Benn] still might have made it regardless of the referee, it's hard to say.

not the long count but like when he seperated them he clearly held Mclellan away from benn for a few seconds on a couple different occasions in the first round

This sort of thread is only going to lead to raw emotions... discussion of this fight always does. I actually thought it showed great heart on Benn's part to come back like that, I had no idea that it's generally seen as something quite different on the other side of the Atlantic.

I though the ref was even pushing Gman away in the 1st round.

He promised a 1st round KO and he trained for that. It does not mean that it is easy but once it over that you all the enrgy is wasted.

wasnt benn supposed to have been DQ'd in the first cause the media guys helped pushed him back into the ring
