yes the man is a weak puncher..... for his weight.
Is Valuev a weak puncher?

Valuev can hit hard....Look at the wide right hand he caught Barrett with in the 11th...He's just smart and never unleashes 'the beast' which is his kill punch, until the right time. He comes out and focuses on technique and speed, with a quick-for-his-size jab/cross combination. That cross he throws is very effective, he doesn't ever **** it, I bet that ***** is hard to slip when you're fighting him. hard to tell when it's coming too because he loves to just jab and reset, or feint the right and land a jab on you. I like watching him fight...
I respect guys who can hit hard but only choose to do so when they see the perfect opportunity. It reflects intelligence...
also yeah he focuses on technique more than anything with that cross after the jab, his main concern is not running out of stamina...so he'll just nail you with decent quicker shots , and smother you draining your stamina, until you're tired or hurt, then unleash the wide looping overhand right...Comment

There is no way in the world that he doesnt hit hard or have ko power, being that big it is just hard for him to find the range .Comment

He definitely hits hard when he lands a good shot. I just watched the 11th round on youtube and I give Barrett credit for getting up like he did. By the time of the stoppage, it didn't look like he had much left behind those eyes and might have been really hurt if the fight went on anymore.Comment

very well said exactly right he does generate a lot of force but its not snappy or explosive like a brewster or or wladComment

for his weight he is a seriously weak puncher, compared to most heavies he is merely average the only punch of his that stands out as powereful is his jab; its easily as stiff as brunos or foremans wereComment
