Actually it was his sister. I for one cannot stand Atlas, He's so full of himself it's sickening. His # 1 favorite past time is Tyson hating. Like many others I've heard the guy scream like a banshee during a fight if a fighter is hurt...STOP IT, STOP IT, THEY NEED TO STOP THIS FIGHT. Next thing you know he's trying to get into the ring. Then he slams the Referee for not doing what he thought he should have done. His "Keys to Victory" thing makes me throw up in my mouth. I try to change the channel before he does it, sometimes I'm not in time. Pop Pop, then come with the left.
I like to mute the TV if he's doing a fight. Actually I have to or I'll throw up in my mouth again. And his scar...WTF? Oh well, who cares.

atlas' commentary is crap. it's just non stop talking, lessons in life, psychology of big man v little man, and i basically disagree with every single word he says.

the producers that keep him there know NOTHING about boxing, nothing. tessitore lets him go on rants - like the time today. It was so embarrassing to hear him get so worked up, his neck swelling up, the mumbling bumbling histrionics, i wanted to crawl under a chair. then tessitore instead of cringing in embarrassment at the amateur bowery boy delivery of it, says, "well said teddy." it's a clown show. just a bunch of idiots run that broadcast.

              he doesn't compare.

steward is a great trainer with a brilliant track record. he trained hearns from the get-go. he devised the game plan for holyfield to beat bowe in their 2nd fight. he trained mccall when he beat lewis and took advantage of lewis's poor balance.

goosen is a solid veteran trainer who has trained successful guys for a long time. roach has trained champions for years, not just recently as everyone thinks.

atlas's whole reputation as a pro trainer is forged on moorer, who already ko'd like 26 straight guys before atlas, and showed more heart than ever with roach in the holyfield rematch.

There are limits to what any trainer can accomplish. Only one percent of all the boxers in the world have the required talent to reach the championship level, and that is why there are many more trainers than champions. Just because Teddy Atlas has a lack of champions on his resume does not mean he is a bad trainer, and just because he is on TV does not make him a good trainer. You have to work with a man day after day to find out how good he really is.

Atlas clicks with certain fighters and is very good for them, but overall I'd imagine he is hard to work with. A trainer has to change his methods to work for their boxer, as Dundee famously did for Ali (by using positive reinforcement instead of negative). He can't expect the fighter to change his personality for him.

He's a good trainer but not on Roach's or Steward's level and the proof is just in the pudding. But Teddy is a great personality and I'd rather have a beer with him and talk boxing than with Roach or Steward.

What pro fighters have done well working with Atlas other than Moorer (who won a close decision over a Holyfield having an off-night)???

Atlas is so overrated, and I can't believe people buy into his crap.

Teddy is too much for me at times.
I think he is Ok, but can be very annoying and is seemingly a head case.
He makes it seem like he is the supreme boxing commentator/historian etc.
Bert Sugar is the worst, though.
Guys not only dumb, but annoying as well.
